Pros

- supportive work colleagues - free travel/travel perks - growth and experience/interesting projects

Cons

- highly political environment/toxic work culture: This is not the family culture type of firm that it once was. The current climate is aggresive, confrontational, petty, political and clawing. Teams work in silos and are fragmented. Lots of backstabbing, throw under the bus scenarios and petty politics that cuts into real productive work. - very low pay/westjet savings plan: company does not pay market rate and seems to think that travel perks will compensate. There is a savings plan but the way its paid out is sketchy and benefits the company more than you. - career advancement: There is very limited space to move up in this firm and political gravity will weigh you down. I'm not even sure what the upside of working here is given the conditions and low compensation. - low morale: ever wonder why the inflight service has deteriorated so much? The low morale starts at the top and has moved down to the service line. People are tired, burnt out and have nothing left to give.
