I have been working at Zebra Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - I have been associated with Zebra(Formerly Motorola Solutions/Symbol) for more than 10 years, it has been a satisfactory and enriching journey so far.
    - Offers Good Work Life balance (Projects/Programs are well planned ahead)
    - Working on Niche Technology (Enterprise Mobility, RFID, IOT)
    - Open door culture to express your views, concerns
    - Management supports and emphasize to think through innovative idea's and work on POC to showcase in the Technology event.
    - Management is supportive on internal job movements across the team's, which helps to get exposure to different areas.
    - Zebra is a growing company as it is on a hiring spree, thus provides lots of opportunity to lead and succeed.
    - Compensation is satisfactory to Good, At lower levels the compensation is very competitive.

    Cons

    - Process Oriented which at times might take a toll on the overall productivity
    - No Recreation room / No Gym
    - Branding is a concern, thou they are the No.1 in the Enterprise Mobility.

    Advice to Management

    - Management needs to think through ways in Branding the company, as it is not well known name in the Indian IT Industry. Thou Zebra is number 1 in the Enterprise Mobility Market with 60+% market share (Honeywell the next competitor is far behind with ~20%).
    - Plan on Yearly Master Health checkup program for the employee's.

I worked at Zebra Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent salary, cafe and gym on site, lots of very nice people

    Cons

Management says they respect & encourage work/life balance because they do allow people to work from home occasionally but don't expect to work less then 50 hours a week (anywhere at Zebra). Internal resources are tight, so if you suggest a good idea (expect to be expected to be the lone wolf who solely executes this idea) Promotions = 3-5 years if you are a rock star otherwise you better like the starting position you accepted because you could die in that cube farm.
Oh, vacations? If you take one, don't forget your cell phone (guaranteed they'll need you)
Finally the company is run by "a man-child club" a group of Directors/VP's playing golf once a week and acting like tyrants. There is a lot of room for success if you're a shark with enthusiasm for playing the game!

    Advice to Management

Instead of siting in your culture meetings talking about creating a culture. Get to know your employees below director level

I have been working at Zebra Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good company to work for, if you know somebody inside

    Cons

Paying attention to unimportant, unnecessary things and leaving behind what is more important. Hiring incompetent uneducated, inexperience people who dont necessarily have an electronic background. Low quality, just to save money. Promotions not on the bases of how competent you are for the job, it is lot easier to get hired if you know someone inside.

    Advice to Management

Start paying attention on more important things, stop wasting resources on culture building among the people who dont understand and incapable. Find and give proper recognition to the people who are really valuable and capable.

I have been working at Zebra Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Too many staff are friends w/ the management &"protect" each other - they come to work drunk and on coke and they are mean when not high. Holtsville NY office is full of addicts - even the delivery people are involved -

    Cons

clean up your act and stop protecting old time employees who are HIGH and MEAN to new staff who are not involved in their drug clicks

    Advice to Management

Spot drug and alcohol checks - please get rid of abusive long time staff! they are not letting us new hires soar - Holtsville office, customer service and analyst

I worked at Zebra Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They allow remote employees. You're constantly working on something new.

    Cons

Everything is under-resourced. Not enough time, not enough people, and not enough investment to truly do a good job for customers.

    Advice to Management

You can't expect innovation if you don't invest in your employees learning. You can't do outstanding work on the cheap. You can't keep counting on your employees to work overtime to make up for your poorly planned and poorly resourced projects.
