    Pros

    The company provides an opportunity to young professionals who are looking for experience to spring board their career. This is about it. All down hill from here.

    Cons

    The company is run by a boys club and poor leadership exists in all departments. The company prioritizes the sale, contract, project, or service ticket over the customer. They believe they are servicing the customer, but in the end they are trapping most of them in contracts they will only regret. There is a lot of internal bickering due to the lack of proper lanes and poor senior management. The company has grown too fast and there are too many manager level employees who dont deserve the responsibility. Employees are underpaid (unless in sales or a revenue generating position) and there are ethics issues left and right. Whether this is how the company treats an employee or the various sexual harassment issues that plague the environment. Overall, the atmosphere is toxic and the sale to Vonage has not changed a thing. STAY AWAY.

    Advice to Management

    Start over. If you are a manager, quit. You are the problem.

    I worked at iCore Networks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    I was able to negotiate a nice salary and bonus (on Paper). There is a lot of energy and initially perceived positivism. It took a lot for me to find something good to say about this company honestly. Icore gave me the checklist I now carry for traits and tendencies I refuse to accept at my place of business. This is a place that will help you fully appreciate it when you get somewhere great!!!

    Cons

    This place is nothing more than a sales machine. They send non-technical sales personnel to essentially architect their solutions and throw a massive jumble of ridiculous demands on your lap that are not possible given the circumstances and refuse to address critical issues and potential points of failure. They have a just do it attitude (Engineering doesn't work that way). They will not have platform changes properly vetted they just buy third party products that are not right for their environment and install them instead of doing their own integration work. They WILL. Repeat WILL; ask you to lie to clients that are experiencing difficulties with their service which will reflect badly on you after you wise up and leave. You will be asked to engage and assist in perpetuating their questionable accounting practices also. This company has the most hacked together platform I have ever experienced and a low uptime rate. They refuse the wisdom of their engineering team and collaboration is frowned upon, creativity is condemned, and how/why are questions that will get you in some trouble here (because most don't know). And that salary; Cut it in half because of the hours you wind up putting in. You also have almost no hope of receiving the negotiated bonus. They will work you for two days straight to try to cover their image internal to the company in order to keep the confidence of the sales staff; without really implementing the huge amount of changes they need to create a stable cloud platform; so nothing is getting better. The director has a frat boy mentality and will throw his team under the bus at a whim. Don't let them sell you a job; or do the choice is yours.

    Advice to Management

    Everyone buying into the scheme you are selling will be the demise of what could be a good company. With yes men all around nobody progresses. If you can't be honest about things you are doing you probably shouldn't be doing them. Paying attention to details is not optional in engineering. Last but not least stop the questionable accounting practices (counting chickens before they hatch).

    Compensation was good and glass door forces you to write 20 words so I am obliged to keep writing even though I have nothing more to say.

    Cons

    Where to begin? This organization expects this place to be your life. Work / life balance forget about it! Minimum 10 hour days. Minimum....usually it's 7 am to 8 or 9 pm.

    There may be no I in team, but there is one in iCore. No collaboration as its all about the self recognition.

    Sales strategy is atrocious. No solution sell, it's all about running over the client until the cave and sign for a service that 70% of the time they can't actually deliver.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees with respect and you won't have the revolving door

    I have been working at iCore Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I have never been as professionally challenged as I have been at iCore compared to all the other jobs I've had in the past. You will find yourself being placed in a lot of uncomfortable situations that will force you to learn new technology and adapt to new roles and responsibilities. It depends how you interpret and react to situations like this, but if you're hungry to succeed and GAIN the knowledge and experience to put on your resume, then working here will work in your favor. There are a lot of smart people here that you can learn from. You can definitely be promoted if you do your job well and avoid whining (publicly).

    Cons

    The uncomfortable situations that iCore employees are placed in can be very demanding and unrealistic at times. This company runs at 200 miles per hour every single minute, every day. If you cant keep up, you will either cry, whine, get coached out of your role, or you'll eventually quit. I blame the company's ridiculously fast-paced culture and the unfair expectations for you to work at least 10 hours a day to be the major contributing factor that BURNS OUT everyone that has quit iCore. While it's true that you can get promoted easily here if you last long enough, but it's more for the company's need to create that position more so than you actually deserving the so-called promotion. The company is growing at an incredible rate and the operations and support part of the company is simply not keeping up fast enough. The customer base grows each day but we are not keeping up with the demand internally. The genuinely hard-working employees get recognized all the time which is good, but you can also unintentionally shoot yourself in the foot by working too hard because management will pile work on you more than you can realistically handle within your regular 40-hour work week. People are forced to come in super early and stay back late to get the job done. It's sad to say but you have to learn how to be strategic with how much you want to shine in your department.

    Advice to Management

    Employee training needs to be ongoing, not just in the beginning of the new hire process. Instead of doing the monthly close-out, think about adding that money to people's salaries, or to developing better employee training and development! iCore needs to invest in their employees to retain them as much as they invest in closing deals and making sales.
