Our latest Gender Pay Gap Report has been published and reveals a small improvement in the gender pay gap at Alfa. The wider tech industry is notoriously imbalanced, but we’re pleased to see more women taking STEM subjects and coming through our graduate schemes. We are on a journey to improve the gender pay gap and we’re focusing on recruitment practices, inclusion & diversity, flexibility, mentoring, coaching and more - all to support our targets and goals in this important area. We’re determined to create a more diverse organisation that we’ll all benefit from and we’ll all be proud of.
Last Thursday we were thrilled to 'Reconnect' at our first in-person EMEA Company Meeting in over 2 years. It was so good to hear company updates, share news and catch up with colleagues old and new. Of course we also carved out some time for socialising in the afternoon - with karaoke and bowling for everyone!
We recently marked International Women's Day at Alfa with an afternoon tea in our rooftop cafe, Moor. This was just one event during a week of treats in our London office including pizza lunch, smoothie breakfasts, sweets and goodies, as we officially transitioned to Smart Working and welcomed friendly faces back into the office! It was so good to reconnect and get into our new team working patterns. Smart Working is being rolled out by our other global offices soon too. Everyone is able to decide (as part of their teams) where they're based on working days. This flexibility is working really well for us so far, but we're constantly reviewing and ensuring we adapt whenever needed.
We're absolutely delighted to be listed in Monitor's Most Innovative Companies edition, for the second year in a row!
Last month we launched Cultural Days at Alfa ! Flexible Culture Days which allow our people to swap in and out of national public holidays that might not match their particular values, beliefs or heritage. Some may choose to work on a local public holiday that they prefer not to celebrate, and instead choose another day off to mark an alternative special day in their calendar. We’ll still have some core public holidays that remain universal across the company - as we believe it’s important that the whole business gets some downtime in unison sometimes! We make things better and solve problems together, so this is another step towards being as inclusive as we can.

Huge congratulations to two of our colleagues, Senior Consultant Doyinsola Ishola and Principal Software Engineer Caterina Di-Sapia, who are featured in The Leasing Foundation's coveted "30 under 30" awards! Celebrating the industry's rising stars, the 30 under 30 index recognises the most influential and high-achieving people in asset finance today. A very well-deserved win for both Doyinsola and Cat!

We're really excited to announce our 3 regional charities that we're supporting this year - The Climate Coalition in EMEA; Feeding America in the US and Share the Dignity in Asia-Pacific. Fundraising is really important to Alfa. Throughout the year we organise events in support of our chosen charities, with the company matching all funds raised. In addition we donate £5 for each employee engagement survey submitted each quarter.
