Alro Steel Fort Wayne has relocated to their new facility at 2912 Pleasant Center Rd. Yoder, IN 46798. This replaces the former 55,000 square foot facility on New Haven Ave. in Fort Wayne. The new state of the art facility is 165,000 Square feet allowing for an expanded material offering including large structural shapes, bar products, carbon plate, and the ability to warehouse special inventory programs. In addition, the new location has added large capacity bar and structural saw cutting, miter saw cutting, shearing, and plate burning services. The new inventory and expanded processing services allow Alro Fort Wayne to focus on cut-to-size and next day delivery.
Alro Steel announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets of Klein Steel, a leading metals service center operating locations in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, New York. Founded in 1971, Klein Steel offers carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper and specialty metals for next day delivery to customers in the Northeast. In addition, they offer a full range of value-added processing services, including component manufacturing and kitting. Alro will continue to operate the Klein metals service center facilities and the Express Metals Outlets in Rochester and Syracuse, New York. The Klein Steel team led by Mike Young will join Alro and continue to provide quality products and next day delivery to the Northeast. Heritage Capital Group acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Klein Steel. The transaction is expected to close by the end of April 2022. This purchase will allow Alro to grow their customer base while providing improved service for cut-to-size metals in the Northeast.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Al Glick, our beloved and respected founder, CEO, and Chairman of Alro Steel on February 8, 2022, in Jackson, Michigan at age 95. Al has been the leader of Alro Steel, the company he co-founded with his brother Robert, since June 1, 1948. There are many things Al will be remembered for, most notably his unmatched love for his family and the University of Michigan. He will be remembered for the company he has built, his passion for customer service, and the belief that teamwork is the key to the ongoing success of our company. Al leaves behind a vibrant company with a culture built on teamwork, integrity, honesty, and loyalty.
