Happy GIS Day!
Happy Veterans Day!
At Atlantic, our employees are family. We know, especially during current times, that many of us are experiencing extra stress and worries at home and work. Marketplace Chaplains are one of the many ways Atlantic cares for its employees. Marketplace chaplains offer diverse in-person and remote Chaplain Care Teams that are voluntary to use, neutral from company operations, and always confidential. They are also free to our staff and their families 24/7. Happy 2 year anniversary to our Chaplain Care Team, Ginger and Mike!
Atlantic has been awarded a $16 million firm-fixed-price contract for photogrammetric and LiDAR surveying and mapping by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers out of St. Louis, Missouri.
Atlantic, in partnership with The Scribes, donated 140 Scribe notebooks, 10 desks, and about 6 boxes of surplus supplies to Free 2 Teach. Free 2 Teach is an amazing local organization that provides free supplies to all full-time teachers in Madison County, AL, including Huntsville and Madison City schools. Teachers not only educate our youth but inspire future generations of innovators and leaders. However, it is estimated that teachers spend $500+ of their own money on classroom supplies each year. Atlantic and the Scribes are proud to support our teachers, who are the backbone of our community!
Our employees are the greatest - plain and simple. COVID may have thrown the world for a loop, but here at Atlantic our passion thrives, and innovation leads the way. In celebration of our dedicated workforce, we presented each employee with an insulated, snap-lid tumbler printed by First Impressions, stickers from the one and only Sticker Mule, and the unparallel notebook from the Scribes, because their “thoughts deserve the best,” and our team, well, is the best.
Atlantic has been using Phase One’s camera technology for over two years combined with our Optech lidar systems. We are very impressed with the technology and applaud Phase One’s innovative approach to designing a high-quality large format camera that produces exceptional results. The Phase One 280MP is yet another forward-looking technology resource that Atlantic has added to provide the most complete and cost-effective geospatial solutions for our clients.
Over a quarter of Atlantic employees have studied at the University of North Alabama, and as a way of giving back, we acquired 25ppm² lidar and 3” pixel resolution imagery of UNA’s campus for academic use. On Thursday, February 13th, Jonathan Byham and Lydia Rodriguez presented the data to the Geography Department along with demonstrating best practices to Dr. Sunny Sim and her Advanced Remote Sensing class. Several years back, we set out to be purposefully different. We have set new bars for ourselves and reached new heights for our clients. We have enjoyed the journey. On our new website, www.atlantic.tech, we hope to share ‘what we’ve learned’ along the way. We are pulling back the curtain and sharing some of our secret sauce. In the coming weeks, and months, we will begin releasing a series of videos and blog posts from our subject matter experts answering questions that we are often asked or wish our clients would ask. Whether you are a client, prospective client, future employee, student, or someone else in the geospatial profession, we hope you find information that is relevant and interesting. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please let us know – we would love to answer the questions you can’t find on Google.
“We are thrilled to partner with Atlantic to deploy not only the T2000, our 4th generation Galaxy and another major leap forward in airborne survey productivity and accuracy, but also the revolutionary G2 dual-sensor system which provides the best that an airborne lidar system can offer, and now at unrivalled point densities thanks to its true 4-MHz laser PRF,” said Optech Executive Vice President and General Manager Michel Stanier.
