What if your next role meant something more? If you’ve ever worked in retail banking, or heck, retail in general, you know the difference between a job that’s transactional — and one that’s transformational. At BECU, our retail roles aren’t just about deposits and withdrawals. They’re about building trust, helping members plan their futures, and being a steady, familiar presence in their lives. Here, you’re not selling products. You’re helping people. Retail Onboarding Managers, Phil Olson and Matt Turner give support to our Retail partners and explain why the work isn’t always easy — but it’s work you can be proud of. #PurposeDrivenCareers #TransformationalWork #RetailBanking #MemberFocused #CareerWithImpact
BECU’s presence in Arizona is growing and so is its sense of community. What started as a simple idea—why don’t we connect?—has evolved into the BECU Arizona Club, a grassroots group of 60 employees spanning nearly every division across the credit union. From virtual connections to in-person gatherings, this group is fostering engagement and support among colleagues. Last month, the Arizona Club took its impact a step further by hosting its first volunteer event with Feed My Starving Children. In just one day, 18 employees packed 186 boxes of food, providing 40,176 meals for children in Peru, Guatemala and Africa. A strong sense of connection and purpose is what makes the credit union difference.
This April, we’re celebrating Earth Month alongside our Environmental Sustainability Employee Resource Group and we're not just talking the talk—we’re walking the walk! At BECU, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint through impactful initiatives such as supporting native tree planting and offering sustainable employee benefits. The ES ERG plays a key role in driving these efforts with projects like a pollinator garden and waste reduction programs. We kicked off the month with a hands-on event, where our team worked together to tackle invasive species along the Duwamish River Trail. Volunteers pruned, dug and cleared space for native plants, helping restore this vital ecosystem. Together, we can create lasting change for our planet. 🌿
Thanks to our vibrant workforce, unique benefits and purpose-driven culture, BECU was just named one of the best places to work in Tech by Built In.
