We have created over 31,000 quiet shopping slots for those who want to pick up the items and advice they need whilst the store is quieter, or for those who cannot make it to store during the day, such as key workers. "Voted the safest retailer on the high street, the health and safety of our customers and colleagues is the most important thing to us, so we are offering this service to allow customers access to our stores when they are quieter or at times when they are available," Tracey Clements, Chief Operating Officer at Boots UK. That’s why our newly launched Christmas campaign ‘What the World Needs Now’ is centred around acts of kindness, care and great value for all. Giving back to those in need, we will provide hygiene essentials to some of the millions of people in the UK living in hygiene poverty, with a donation of £1million worth of products to The Hygiene Bank. "The more we can create an environment where people can be themselves, the greater engagement we’ll see. I think giving people an opportunity to talk and share and realise they're not alone and that there are other people with shared experiences, helps to bring down some of those walls." During Black History Month Walgreens Boots Alliance colleagues have been examining racial equity issues and Fauzia Somani, Boots UK Future of Pharmacy Director, and executive sponsor for our Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) business resource group, shares how her experiences in the United States, UK and Canada have shaped her work at WBA in the interview below:

We're trialling a brand-new recycling scheme in our stores! Since signing the UK Plastic Pact in 2018, we’ve been championing reducing plastic waste in all areas of our business, so we’re delighted to be launching a take back scheme in partnership with No7, allowing customers to recycle beauty, health and wellness products in our stores. Customers will be able to scan their empty products using a mobile phone, adding them to their online ‘bank’, before heading to a participating Boots store to deposit at a recycle point. For every five products deposited, customers receive £5 worth of Boots Advantage Card Points. The deposited empties are then sent directly to our recycling partner ReWorked, where they will be formed into new products. The new scheme will be available in 50 Boots stores across the country from Thursday 24 September. Find out more here:
