May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. This year’s theme is Advancing Leaders Through Opportunity, and teambuilding is a great way to advance our leaders and teams. To celebrate, Cable ONE leaders treated their teams to a cultural favorite - boba tea, while learning and celebrating the culture and contributions of AANHPI community. Did You Know? - Boba tea made its way to the United States in the 1990s following the widespread immigration of Taiwanese people. - Los Angeles, California, is home to the first boba tea shops in the United States, and all were owned by Taiwanese immigrants. - Boba tea gained traction across the United States when the Fung Brothers released their song, Boba life, in 2013. - The East Coast adapted the name “bubble tea.” - A Boba tea emoji was added to the world of emojis in 2020. #aanhpiheritagemonth #diversityequityandinclusion #dei
