For the first time ever in the world a Eurofighter has been refuelled in flight from an A400M. We're really proud to have helped deliver support and training to the Spanish Air Force, together with Airbus, to make this happen.
In July, Cobham's AW139 based in Curaçao for the Dutch Caribbean coast guard was called out early in the evening to pick up a kite surfer from Klein Curaçao, who had suffered a severe knee fracture. The crew was quickly on scene to give first aid and transported the young man back for hospitalisation from the tiny tropical island, 10 nautical miles offshore from Curaçao. Recently we received a visit from the young man, already back on his feet and recovering well. The team were very happy to see him back smiling! Cobham have extensive experience supporting helicopter search and rescue activities around the world. We have specially modified helicopters, including night vision devices and a full sensor suite, based in both Curaçao and Cyprus.

Launched in August, NASA's Parker Solar Probe Mission will provide unprecedented observations of the Sun. As partner to this programme, Cobham equipped the probe with our radiation-hardened (RadHard) and High Reliability Microelectronics. Cobham worked closely with Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), Caltech, U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and Southwest Research Institute to provide hundreds of products for the Parker Solar Probe Mission. Cobham solutions featured on the Parker Solar Probe include: RadHard Databus Terminals, Low Voltage Digital Signaling (LVDS) circuits, Logic devices, eight varieties of Memory, Multiplexers, Pulse Width Modulators, Spacewire Transceivers and Voltage Regulators. These devices allow the spacecraft to withstand the extreme temperatures and radiation as it travels towards the sun.
