Cornerstone rocked their 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off Contest today in celebration of the Superbowl! 14 Chili Chefs entered the contest but only one could take Championship honors. Congratulations to Julian Prewitt who took 1st Place! Nick Whitten came in 2nd, and Jeff Smith 3rd. All entries were outstanding and credit goes to our 2019 Judges who took on the tough task of choosing just one winner. Thanks to Pat Nieman, Jada Holder, Shemeka Brown and Mary Beth Marino for judging this year. Congratulation to all. It was delicious! #bestcorporateculture #chili #Superbowl

"Cornerstone's Overall Performance Earns Whirlpool's Top Intermodal Carrier Award". Transport Topics Magazine - January 14 issue.

Cornerstone recently rolled out more railcars to our growing fleet. We dedicated one special railcar to Stoneman Douglas High School located in Parkland, Florida. This railcar was named PARKLAND and we applied the Stoneman Douglas High School logo to the car, instead of our usual Cornerstone Systems logo. Railcar CRYX 6217 contains the number “17” as a tribute to the number of lives lost during a tragic school shooting on February 14, 2018. A total of seventeen people, fourteen students and three staff members, were fatally shot and seventeen others were wounded. Railcar CRYX 6217 came off the production line in August. The car was loaded in Napa Valley with wine and sent to Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits facility in Lakeland, Florida in September. “The car will put on about 70,000 miles per year moving through rail yards and communities across the country,” said VP Railcar Services & Wine/Spirits Sales Burke Anderson. “It will be a rolling memorial for those innocent kids, teachers and coaches that so tragically lost their lives, and to remember all that remain #MSDStrong."
Merry Christmas from our Portsmouth, Virginia office!
