Discord is all about building belonging — and that starts internally. Discord’s employee resource groups (ERGs) are employee-led organizations centered around belonging. Led by our Inclusion, Diversity & Purpose team, our ERGs create an inclusive space where members of underrepresented groups and allies can come together to celebrate our diverse communities. Our ERG leads have 10% allocated work time for ERG work to help build belonging through promoting education and awareness, offering learning opportunities, and driving advocacy for their communities in and outside of Discord. If this strikes a chord, come build belonging with us!
How do Discord employees experience autonomy at work? We could tell you, but we like how Senior Data Science Manager Chris Lopez puts it 😊 Find out the answer and learn more about Chris’ Discord experience below. Read the article and scouring for the link to apply? Don’t worry, we got you: https://bit.ly/2W9wdeU
We love a positive moment of building belonging on social media, and we were inspired by The Skimm's "Show Us Your Leave" initiative. Here are some of the ways Discord makes parenthood easier to navigate when you’re trying to build a life at Discord. Being able to bring your full self to work means knowing you're fully supported there, especially during periods of transition (and we'd say bringing the next generation of Discord users into the world is a pretty big one). You don't have to choose between building belonging with us and building a family
ICYMI: We're suckers for quality here, and sound quality is a big deal. So much so that our employees get up to $325 for a set of swanky headphones when they join. Something to think about if you’re sick of headphones that only emit sound from one earbud...(or want to sound like a radio host in your meetings). Get your new headphones (and do some really cool, meaningful work while wearing them)
Feeling like your desk setup needs a little spice? Our employees get $100 a year to spruce up their desks. So far, we’ve seen everything from mini zen gardens to unique collections of Funko pop figurines. What would you add to your desk?
Take a deep breath. Clear your thoughts. Wait, they're back again. At Discord, people don't leave their personal life at the door (you know, the figurative door...we're still WFH). If you need a quick break in the day to center yourself or want to start your day with mindful meditation, you can take advantage of Headspace Inc., the mental wellness app fully covered by yours truly. So go ahead...zone out your barking dog or your SO working in the other room. Meditating on the idea of working with us? Learn more about our job openings!
Our 150 million+ monthly active users say Discord is THE place to talk. But when you need to talk to a therapist, it can be difficult to know where to go — which is why we offer Modern Health as a benefit to reduce the burden of finding a therapist and support our team members when life throws them a curveball (or they need a quick tune-up). Paging all interested candidates, check out our job openings!
At Discord, taking care of you is the highest priority. Whatever your favorite way to stay physically well is, we'll give you $375 per quarter to do it. Gym fees? Shiny new dumbbells? Peloton subscription? Ski lift passes? It's all fair game. A new job AND new exercise shoes? Walk this way and experience Life at Discord
When we say we’re building belonging, we mean it. At Discord, one of the ways we’re working to be more inclusive internally is through our Gender Affirmation Fund. Many medical insurance providers consider much of the treatment vital to one’s transition as cosmetic. We don’t. Building a place of belonging means ensuring our benefits benefit EVERYONE. Following WPATH standards of care, Discord offers a $20,000 reimbursable benefit for transition procedures not covered by traditional insurance. Come build belonging with us
The only thing worse than a nasty head cold? Trying to work through it because you ran out of sick days. Not here! At Discord, we don't believe there should be limitations for taking the time you need to feel better. We offer use-what-you-need sick days. So drink plenty of fluids and log off— guilt-free. If Life at Discord sounds sick (the good kind), check out our job openings
