Meet Angela Chien, our Senior Director of Corporate & Commercial Law, who makes legalese fun! Angela and the rest of the Legal team handle all things legal at Discord, or as she likes to describe it, ‘spreads the Legal peanut butter across as much bread as possible.’ What surprised Angela most about Discord’s culture? “What's surprising is that I regularly interact with many people in the company, and some of them I don't have any projects with. I send DMs to our co-founder Stan about funny memes and have inside jokes with people who I don't work with directly. I even have a GDM with a group of people where we only talk about Bachelor in Paradise! We asked Jack how Discord actualizes belonging for them: "We are building belonging every day by living it. I use they/ them pronouns and I have never been in a meeting where there were any questions about my pronouns. Even during lunch meet and greets, people share pronouns as part of their greetings.
