Fender rocked the stage at the Supply Chain Industry Conference hosted by APICS earlier this month. However, it wasn’t our incredible instruments that had people talking; it was an impressive case study presentation on the strides made in our supply chain processes that got the crowd rockin’! More than 400 conference goers listened to our supply chain leadership discuss the recent efforts to align the organization around a strong sales and operations planning process, which seemed to be a hot topic among audience members. We are very proud to have Brad, Mike and Heather in our Fender Family!
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation recently held a Talent Showcase for our Master Builder Assistants (MBAs), who have been working diligently under the guidance of the Master Builders. These MBAs were hand-selected to assist in sub-assembly, neck/body prep, relic operations, buff and polish, paint, and tune testing of Master Built signature guitars. Their incredible craftsmanship, knowledge, and creativity was celebrated through presentations about their learning and success. This is a prime example of the irreplaceable talent in our Custom Shop and Fender Family. Great job and congrats!
Fender employees work hard and rock even harder. Not only are several of our employees dedicated members of the Fender Family, they are also Fender brand fanatics and extraordinary musicians! This weekend our rock star employees will have a chance to showcase their talent at a famous Fender Band Jam! What's a Band Jam you ask? Well, it's a chance for employees to become band mates, take collaboration from the conference room to the stage, and gather after hours to show off their awesome shredding skills! Stay tuned for photo updates following the concert!
Today marks the first day of fall, which means it's time to welcome changing leaves, crisp air, and Halloween candy! Members of the Fender Family have already started adorning their cubes with festive decorations to ring in the spirit of autumn. Stay tuned for more decoration development!
Fender employees recently had the pleasure of meeting Lance Whitford, Founder & CEO of Vets2Work.US. This incredible non-profit organization has a mission to give veterans the chance to work in local communities. To raise awareness, Lance created the 30/30 campaign, where he is working 30 jobs in 30 days, and his earned compensation goes back to the cause. Fender was honored to be the 21st stop! Lance spent the day in our warehouse and mail room, and his hard work and profound message left an invaluable impact. Every few weeks, Fender HQ employees have the opportunity to participate in PB&Jam sessions with various artists who come through AZ on their tours. Most recently, we welcomed rock super-group The Aristocrats to the main stage! Employees munched on the provided pb&j (with an added bonus... Nutella!) sandwiches while the band performed a set. Afterwards, a meet 'n' greet ensued, and employees received personalized, autographed photos of the band! Rock on!
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation was recently featured on ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, in the "Made In America" segment! The spotlight was on our talented employees of the Corona, CA manufacturing facility, who were shown engaged in the hands on production process of our legendary American Standard instruments. There was even a private guitar lesson between David and our EVP of Fender Brand, Richard McDonald! If you were not one of the 8 million people who caught the segment live, check it out here!! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vITs1
