Press Release — The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded Genesee Health System a grant totaling $3,808,173 over the next four years to increase and expand services to individuals involved in the Court system and have a mental illness. GHS has been serving people within the Court system in partnership with local judges for over two decades. This program will focus on individuals who do not voluntarily participate in mental health services, but could be helped and supported with participation. We would like to extend an enormous "THANK YOU" to Dr. Bobby Mukkamala!!! In addition to his assistance with staff training and his work with GCHC and GHS for collection of 100 plus test samples from the most vulnerable populations, Dr. Mukkamala also donated clear face shields to staff for use. As of Wednesday, June 3rd, the GHS/GCHC Outreach Team has conducted 443 COVID-19 tests, made possible by grants and donations such as this. Read the press release at the link below.
