At Gleeson, we’re passionate about supporting the professional development of our people, and last week, we were delighted to see more of our colleagues from across the business successfully pass their qualifications 👏 Congratulations to Tom Davis, who has recently been promoted to Payroll Administrator following the completion of his Level 3 Business Administrator qualification, where he was awarded with distinction. On achieving this milestone, Tom commented: “I am grateful to Gleeson for giving me the opportunity to complete my apprenticeship studies. It has given me a fantastic qualification as well as knowledge in payroll as well. I would recommend doing a Gleeson apprenticeship to up-and-coming talent.” Sam Harpin Rhodes, Head of Payroll, added: “I could not be prouder of Tom; this is a huge achievement. Tom has worked so hard throughout his apprenticeship and has become a crucial member of the team. His attention to detail along with his witty humour shines throughout everything that he does. Well done Tom and very well deserved.” Congratulations to Neil Whitford, Assistant Site Manager, on completing and passing his Level 4 NVQ in Construction Site Supervision through the NHBC, awarded distinction. We take pride in our collaborative partnership with the NHBC with our recent cohort of Bricklaying apprentices utilising the NHBC training facility in Hull since its opening in October 2023. Wayne Sutton expressed his delight, saying, “Attending the official opening of the new NHBC Training Hub in Cambridgeshire was a pleasure. These hubs provide a fantastic, purpose-built environment that mirrors real on-site working conditions. This initiative aims to bridge the skills gap in house building, offering practical work experience to the next generation of skilled house builders.” #NHBC #TrainingHubs #NextGenBuilders #HRHThePrincessRoyal

A big congratulations to two of our apprentices who recently participated in a bricklaying competition at the NHBC Hull Hub to showcase their skills in brickwork. Lewis Ronan secured the first-place position and was awarded a brick trowel and certificate, while Ellis Ball achieved second place. These in-house competitions offer apprentices essential experience, equipping them for larger regional and national events organised by the Guild of Bricklaying and Skill Build. #apprentices #bricklaying #gleesonhomes #buildingtalent

Recognising International Women's Day, a day dedicated to recognising the accomplishments and impact of women globally. It is a moment to reflect on the advancements in gender equality and the ongoing efforts needed for further progress. ♀️ In celebration of International Women's Day aligning with Women in Construction Week, we saw this as a great opportunity to record a special edition podcast episode exploring this year's themes, 'Keys to the Future' and ‘Inspire Inclusion’. We are joined by two remarkable women from Gleeson, Alice Best, our Head of Organisational Development, and Sarah Rochelle, our Senior Ecologist to share the successes they've achieved, and the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry. Let's strive to create a world where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
