“During my job interview years ago, I heard that Goodyear highly promotes internal mobility and supports associates who would like to explore different functions,” said Ruth, Global Intercompany Accounting Manager. “I was able to move to other roles within the audit team, and then two years ago I began my role within the finance service delivery function.”
Fifty-three years ago today, we supplied essential products for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Apollo program, including the Apollo 11 mission which landed on the moon. It is with pride and excitement that we announce that the tradition will continue with Lockheed Martin and others as we work together to develop lunar vehicle tires for a lunar mobility vehicle as part of NASA’s Artemis program.

A first of its kind facility for Goodyear opened recently in Dudelange, Luxembourg and features a new process focused on small-batch production of high performance tires, enabling Goodyear to produce tires four times faster than the standard production cycle. The new process, developed by Goodyear engineers, produces tires four times faster than a standard production cycle by using a version of 3-D printing for the tire industry. It also drives efficiencies during the industrialization process of new products that will later go into mass production, thanks to the fully automated and high precision nature of the manufacturing process. As a next step in our global journey to fully replace petroleum-derived oils by 2040, we are proud to announce that a portion of petroleum-based materials, used in production of some of the most popular Metro Miler city transit tires will be replaced with a bio-based soybean oil compound. In the Metro Miler G152 and G652 tires, soybean oil will replace about 11 liquid ounces of free-flowing petroleum per tire – almost as much as a traditional soda can. Scale that up to a bus fleet of 1,600 buses and that has the potential to save around 20 barrels of oil This new formulation in production uses a readily available surplus of soybean oil that is left over from food applications in the marketplace today. The Metro Miler G152 and G652 tires made with soybean oil are currently in production and available now for ordering.
“I learned how to use SAP at Goodyear as a newcomer in IT," says Gülper Y. "I got a lot of help from my coworkers, and my managers supported me in taking classes to earn SAP certification. I also learned how to manage projects through my different roles and Project Management Professional (PMP) training.”
