La Petite Academy in Orlando hosted a school-wide celebration to honor Channing Clarke, the winner of our Kindness Star Contest. Four-year-old Channing is being recognized for his good deeds in the community. La Petite Academy presented him with a $2,000 cash prize, and also donated $2,000 to his charity of choice, Give Kids the World Village. We're so proud of our students and the amazing ways they give back to their communities!
We’re so proud of our La Petite Academy and Childtime schools in SE Virginia and the Chesapeake area! Students, staff and school families from nine locations did an amazing job teaming up to collect funds and nonperishable food items to support the 2019 Mayflower Marathon Food Drive. Our schools donated 1,700+ lbs. of food to assist 600 local families in need. Thanks to everyone who participated and supported our schools to help us surpass our goal. In the past 7 years, our contributions have grown from 4,000 food items to this year’s 23,108 items. Wow!
Students, families and staff at Childtime and La Petite Academy schools in Chesapeake and Southeast Virginia worked with several charitable organizations to make the season brighter for local families in need. Our team donated: 3,000 lbs. of food and personal care products for the Hampton Roads Food Bank; dozens of coats, hats, gloves and boots to For Kids in Norfolk; personal care items for a local shelter and The Shoebox Project; and more than 1,000 lbs. of food for the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank. Way to go!
Throughout the holidays, our schools give back, pay it forward and share the joy of the season. Our La Petite Academy and Childtime school directors recently volunteered at the St. Louis Crisis Nursery to sort and organize thousands of toys for local children in need. The gifts were collected by our school families and throughout the community as part of the nursery’s “Holiday Hearts” program.
Leaders from our Childtime, Children’s Courtyard, Tutor Time and La Petite Academy schools in DuPage & Kane County, IL, are helping brighten the holidays for local children. This week, the team organized and wrapped gifts that have been donated to The Humanitarian Service Project, which provides assistance to 2,000 underserved families.

Our Central Florida La Petite Academy team recently treated families at the Lake Nona Ronald McDonald House to a delicious lunch. It’s a holiday tradition the team has enjoyed for the past 5 years. Many of our LCG locations proudly support Ronald McDonald House Charities, which make a home away from home for families whose children are receiving treatment at nearly hospitals.
Congrats to Channing Clarke, La Petite Academy’s Kindness Star for 2019! Children at our schools love to do good deeds and lend a hand to family, friends and neighbors. As part of our Season of Kindness, we asked our school families to submit videos featuring their children explaining what makes them a Kindness Star. Our Facebook followers voted for their favorite submissions. With 1,239 votes, 3-year-old Channing claimed the grand prize, an educational scholarship valued at $2,000. In addition, we are donating $2,000 to the winner’s charity of choice, Give Kids the World Village. Thanks to everyone who sent us submissions – we are so proud of each of our students and the amazing ways they give back to our communities! It’s the Season of Kindness, and Learning Care Group students and employees are sharing the holiday spirit in their local communities. In Mooresville, N.C., Tutor Time’s annual food drive for the Mooresville Soup Kitchen brought in 900+ lbs. of donated groceries from our kiddos, families and staff. Junior K students also visited the soup kitchen to see how donations are processed, learning about empathy and helping those in need.
