Wider Announces Partnership with MarineMax CLEARWATER, FL (August 25, 2022) – Wider Yachts and MarineMax have recently cemented a partnership that will be highly beneficial for both brands. The American dealer will now be the exclusive North American distributor for Wider’s production line of catamarans. Wider’s catamaran division already has five units of the new WiderCat92 underway, all primed to splash in 2023 and 2024 — two of them for the American market. All of the models will have the much-celebrated Wider Serial Hybrid Propulsion System, which makes them highly efficient and eco-friendly. Importantly, distribution of the catamaran division at Wider will be separate from the company’s superyacht division, which includes the recently unveiled full custom project Moonflower 72 as well as some exciting upcoming projects.

MarineMax will acquire IGY Marinas for $480 million in cash, with an additional potential earnout of up to $100 million two years after closing, subject to the achievement of defined performance metrics. IGY Marinas, through recent acquisitions and organic growth, is projected to generate over $100 million of revenue.

In a presentation before the Oconto City Council on April 19, 2022, long-time president Mark Pedersen said the sale to MarineMax was “a very unique situation for this community,” and wanted council members to feel comfortable with what’s been accomplished by what he termed “a great marriage.” “Never has a manufacturer married up with a supply chain,” he said. “This is something different, something new, and I think the industry is looking at it as a major plus for MarineMax and for us.” Clearwater, Florida-based MarineMax purchased Cruisers’ parent company, KCS International, from Oconto native K.C. Stock. In the 28 years he owned the company, Cruiser’s became one of the world’s top manufacturers of premium yachts.
