In February 2024, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) published the gender pay gap of organisations with 100+ employees for the first time. This change was an enormous shift in gender equity transparency in Australia. Today we’re proud to be sharing Metcash’s gender pay gap data, a reflection of our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion across our organisation. “I’m thrilled to say that Metcash are part of a small number of organisations with a gender pay gap of under 5%, which is considered ‘neutral’ by WGEA. For the 2022-2023 reporting period, the median gender pay gap for total remuneration at Metcash was 3.9%. This compares strongly against the Australian average gender pay gap of 21.7% and an average of 14.1% in the Wholesale industry, as reported by the WGEA.” – Danielle Jenkinson, Group Chief People & Culture Officer. This is a pleasing result and confirms Metcash is fully committed to championing and promoting diversity, which includes our commitment to gender equality, gender pay equity and equal opportunities for advancement.
