Last week, our very own Senior Underwriting Manager Brock Noel, who has been with Michigan First for 16 years, sat down with Mike Lawson on CU Broadcast to talk about financial wellness. Tune in to hear Brock talk about Financial Exploration, a free program developed by Michigan First team members that helps people from all walks of life achieve their financial goals. Since its launch in 2023, our team has had the pleasure of sitting down with more than 17,000 individuals. We are proud to have become part of their financial journey!
Since its inception in 1926, Michigan First has been at the forefront of providing financial services to lower income communities. We firmly believe that each and every person should have equal access to financial education, lending programs, and a place where their banking needs are met. Because of this, we have been designated as a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). This year, we became a member of the Detroit CDFI Coalition, a collaborative group of city stakeholders, other CDFIs, and businesses working together to expand banking services, lending, and investment opportunities within the city of Detroit. We are thrilled to be part of an amazing group of businesses and equally honored to share that Jennifer Borowy, our President/CEO, has been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Coalition. This appointment allows us to expand our commitment to providing financial assistance to our members and communities we serve, and allows Michigan First to continue growing its footprint in the very city we were founded nearly 100 years ago.
A cool shot from our latest Team Appreciation Day! As a way to raise money for a great cause and share a few laughs, team members were given the opportunity to dunk members of our leadership team in exchange for a small donation to Forgotten Harvest.
