The Optomi Atlanta team spent the day giving back to their community at the Sandy Springs Recycling Center! The group sorted through multiple different types of plastics into different bins. They learned there are 3 different types of plastics that must be recycled in separate ways. The group cleaned up areas for the Recycling Center workers to easily access the good plastics!
Many children right here in the U.S. don’t know if there will be food in the fridge when they get home from school, so we created a program to address this hunger epidemic. With each consultant hired, Optomi provides a food-insecure child a weekend bag of meals. We've fed over 45,000 kids since the launch of our charity effort. Nearly 16 million households in 32 states have suffered a reduction in SNAP benefits just this month. Program participants may lose up to $250 or more in benefits, making it far more difficult to put food on the table. Many are calling this crisis a "hunger cliff." Check out this article highlighting the concerns of these decreasing benefits: https://lnkd.in/gUvdeg7W

In just a few short hours, the Dallas team made a BIG difference volunteering at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) for their Q1 giving back day. The team packed 98 boxes of nutritional meals for children around the world. In just under 2 hours, we provided 21,268 meals for kids in need. This will feed 57 kids for a whole year!
Millions of Americans were notified their food budget was going to be cut this year...by hundreds of dollars possibly. With grocery prices skyrocketing as of late, cutting aid to pay for food is a tremendous loss. Since 2013, we've been doing our part. Opt2give, an initiative created by Optomi cofounders, was created to provide a food-insecure child a weekend bag of meals. According to the New York Times article below, the U.S. is heading towards a "hunger cliff" as families are being forced to reallocate money for bills, rent, etc. towards food instead. We've fed over 45,000 kids since the launch of this charity effort and hope to continue making a difference where we can.
