Exciting news: Our CEO Leslie Trigg was named a Bay Area finalist for the Ernst & Young #Entrepreneur of The Year Award! This is one of the preeminent competitive business awards for leaders of high-growth companies who think big and make an impact -- and anyone who knows her knows, that's Leslie! “The 2022 Entrepreneur Of The Year finalists have shown us that ambition, courage, ingenuity and empathy are key to driving change,” said Entrepreneur Of The Year Bay Area Program Co-director Chad Bowar. “They have a mindset that drives them to strive for more and an unwavering commitment to their companies, customers and communities.”
"We knew that introducing #innovation in a space where users are very set in their ways, and not open or used to change, would not be easy. So, we tackled the problem in an entirely different way from the entrenched players, while focusing on a concept that many might overlook: When you read about product design, it’s usually centered around understanding user needs. However, when innovating in a space that has not changed, I tend to focus more on user fears." Hear some of our CEO Leslie Trigg's main takeaways about how trepidation can be transformed into trust, pulling from her own experience in the early development days of #TabloDialysis technology: #BetterBeginsNow
Our Chief Medical Officer Michael Aragon, MD shared his top five 2022 trends for healthcare with TechRepublic – and you may notice a thread through all of his predictions! Whether making healthcare more virtual, more remote, more embedded with trustworthy AI, or more accessible to vulnerable groups, #TabloDialysis plays a part in all of these aspects of where healthcare is going. #BetterBeginsNow
Outset's speaker series is called Unplugged. We launched this series because learning together from internal and external experts, both in and out of healthcare, allow each of us to grow our skills, knowledge, and networks. In short, this series was designed to support good people getting better. In one of our #Unplugged Series, we saw a fascinating discussion facilitated by our Chief Operating Officer, Martin Vazquez, introducing #TeamOutsetMedical to Paul Humphries from Flex! Paul is an incredibly accomplished global leader in manufacturing 4.0 whose career is particularly remarkable in its agility. Paul’s experience pivoting multiple times between executive leadership roles in Human Resources and Global Operations highlights the importance of courage in overcoming self-doubt and finding career advancement. After all, as Paul said, “What are you afraid of? Unless you try it, you'll never know.” See a snippet of our session on our LinkedIn! We hope this excerpt of the session inspires you to keep reaching further! #BetterBeginsNow
As you rise to the day's challenges, remember to make #MentalHealth a priority. Every week, one of our talent experience specialists Esha Dhillon, who's also a certified yoga instructor, leads a 10-minute guided meditation for Outsetters via Zoom. It's an opportunity for each of us to take several minutes out of our busy day to breathe together as a community, to find a sense of peace and grounding within ourselves, and to feel the benefits of relaxation and renewal as we face the day that's coming in. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and amidst this stressful time of #COVID19, it's especially important to take time for yourself to just breathe. So here’s one of Esha's guided meditations for #TeamOutsetMedical and anyone in our LinkedIn community. We hope this breath practice helps you gather a sense of calm anywhere, anytime you need. #BetterBeginsNow

Thinking about sunnier days at our home office in San Jose. We filed this image away weeks ago to serve as a St. Patrick's Day message today; but, given the scary and uncertain times we are all facing, we now see it as a moment of beauty and a reminder that this virus had a beginning, and it will have an end. This storm, too, shall pass. While our team has made a complete transition from our vibrant hive of activity at 1830 Bering Dr. to our remote work environments in order to help contain the spread of COVID-19, we're increasingly conscious of how important a role collaboration and connection play in our day-to-day work together. This deviation from the norm is a challenge that Outsetters are rising to with great leadership, communication, and commitment to the goals that we're striving towards, even from our solitary spaces. What's unchanged in all of this is our foundational belief that #BetterBeginsNow.
"We believe in #Outset's vision for technology-driven care delivery improvement and #Tablo's ability to disrupt the dialysis market," said Daniel Sundheim, founder of D1 Capital Partners L.P.. "With growing focus at the federal level on how to manage chronic #kidney disease, which is increasingly prevalent, we believe Tablo is the only device with the potential to transform the delivery of dialysis." #BetterBeginsNow #TabloDialysis
On July 26, 2019, our team members Jennifer Mascioli-Tudor, MBA and Amy Kerdok co-facilitated the first Bay Area RAPS webinar, centralizing around the topic of learning more about defining and incorporating usability studies into design control process. There was a great turn out, with roughly 20 Outset employees in-house, and over 80 people who attended online and from all over the country! We’d like to thank our team for their commitment into making this event happen and connecting with professionals all around.
Minds Blown and Hearts Won! Our team was deeply inspired by the wisdom shared by Sam Trevino, former dialysis patient of 17 years, transplant recipient, and now a patient advocate/motivational speaker, and his incredible wife and kidney donor, Lacey. Sam's vitality and humor enabled him to develop "Urine Inspiration", a presentation aimed at educating everyone about living a full life in the face of medical challenges. The session, hosted by our Chief Medical Officer and Sam’s former physician, Dr. Michael Aragon, gave us collective pause and profound respect for the people who utilize our life-changing device.
