June 8, 2023 – Following the recent announcement of Socionext’s new SC1260 60GHz automotive-grade sensors series and award nomination of the SC1260AR3 sensor for in-cabin applications, the company today announced participation at the Sensors Converge Conference & Expo 2023 to be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center, booth 1549. May 18, 2023 – On behalf of the Smart Sensors team, Socionext America has just been named a finalist of the “2023 Best of Sensors Award” by Questex’s Sensors Converge, organizers of the annual Sensors Expo and Conference. The product entered is Socionext’s “soon to be announced” Intelligent, ultra-low-power, compact, all-in-one CMOS 60GHz radar sensor - SC1260AR3. The SC1260AR3 is an intelligent, ultra-low-power, compact, all-in-one CMOS 60GHz radar sensor device with AiP (Antenna in Package). It enables 3D sensing, as well as 1D and 2D, and is suitable for automotive interior sensing applications. Additionally, it comes with a built-in radar signal processing unit and detects moving objects' presence and 3D position in designated spaces. Along with its numerous unique features, the sensor has achieved the AEC-Q100 automotive grade stress test qualification with a Grade 2 temperature tolerance ranging from -40°C to 125°C. May 18, 2023 – On May 3rd, Embedded Computing Design published an article titled “Hardware Neuron: Modeling Biological Neuron for Advanced Artificial Intelligence” by Shreyas Basavaraju from the FPGA design team. Thanks, Shreyas, for your excellent work! The article discusses the design and development of a cutting-edge hardware neuron inspired by the mathematical models that simulate biological neurons. These hardware neurons can perform in real-time while consuming less energy, providing a powerful and efficient solution for advanced AI applications.
May 15, 2023 – Today, Socionext announced a collaboration with Techsor, both ZETA Alliance members, on demonstrating the use of ZETag, an IoT tag compliant with the ZETA LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) wireless communication standard. The experiment verified the performance in an asset management use case involving indoor operation, with results proving the practicality of asset management automation using tags integrated with the SC1330A Advanced M-FSK LSI equipped with just a single access point capable of supporting communications with 50 tags spread across two floors covering an area of approx. 3,700 m2.
April 21, 2023 – Omni Design Technologies, an IP provider of low power and high performance mixed-signal solutions, announced Socionext’s licensing of its performance analog front-end IP solutions in advanced FinFET nodes, to deliver the next generation of innovative communications products. The IP allows for integrating high-performance analog IP cores into increasingly complex ASICs and SoCs for applications such as 5G, advanced Wi-Fi, LiDAR, and radar, especially in advanced process nodes. A separate announcement was issued mentioning Coherent Logix® in collaboration with AkiraNET Co. and Socionext, incorporating Omni Design’s multi-giga-sample data converters and other mixed-signal IP in its HyperX® fabric. This reference design and system development platform, targeted to connected devices and communications applications, accelerates time to market for OEMs and ODMs.

December 7, 2022 – Yesterday SNA Employees volunteered at the Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and sorted 9,100 pounds of food during a 3-hour shift to fight hunger and help feed the local community. Second Harvest of Silicon Valley now supports over 450,000 families in the Bay area; that’s an 80% increase over pre-pandemic levels! Thanks to all who took the time to support such a worthy cause! SNA is offering paid time off for volunteering work and we encourage employees to sign up for future events such as this that help benefit those in need in our local community!
