Breast cancer affects millions of women worldwide, and early detection can make all the difference in its successful treatment and recovery. Here at Wave, we are committed to promoting awareness and providing support for breast cancer screening. This month, our Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire teams collaborated with an NGO - Hope Life, on an event to sensitize Wavers on the prevention of breast cancer. Today, we are spotlighting Elhadji Babacar Dieng, Fraud Communication Lead in Senegal. Hear his story: "I joined Wave in September 2020 and have had the pleasure of working with an amazing team promoting financial inclusion in Africa and ensuring users' satisfaction. One of the things I love about working at Wave is the flexibility it provides. The company's culture and values make it an ideal place to grow professionally and personally. While all of Wave's values are important, the one that particularly resonates with me is "We maximize our rate of learning." When I first joined Wave, my English speaking skills were average; however, thanks to the meetings, activity reports, and discussions in English, I improved significantly. This is because I learn something new daily from team members, managers, and direct reports, as well as through the study programs offered by the company. I am honored to be a part of Wave, and as a Lead, I am proud of my team and the incredible work we do daily to protect our users from scams." Yay, it's Friday! 🤩 Wave offers annual immersion trips to our operating countries, so that remote team members can meet other teammates, and experience our product and market. In addition to this, Wave subsidizes costs of employee organized co-working trips like this one - where a small group of our Engineering team met up in Porto, Portugal.
