Zappi, the ad and innovation testing platform built by brands for brands, today announced it was named Market Research Supplier of the Year 2020 (over $10 million in revenue) at this year’s virtual Marketing Research and Insight Excellence Awards on Monday, November 9th. The MR Supplier of the Year award recognizes marketing research and insight firms that are making outstanding contributions to the success of brands and consistently exhibiting a collaborative business relationship with clients. Zappi took home this award for its focus on driving insights into the future and building that frontier directly with leading brands, ultimately filling the gap in the insights landscape left by legacy suppliers and DIY vendors. Just five years ago, running credible research quickly using technology was new to the market research industry. Zappi pioneered that effort, and as a result, the insights automation category which now has over 800 players was born.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Zappi went completely remote across all of our offices. One of the side effects of this move was that we had significantly less organic, social interactions between employees. We are very proud to share the work that one of our developers, Ben Mmari did to address the issue. He created 'Ketchup' a Slack app that connects people from different teams for virtual coffees each week. It's had a big impact and in this blog post Ben shares his reflections on the need, the cultural impact and on the technical architecture of the app.
