Will joins us from the McKinsey London and Sydney offices. Prior to McKinsey he spent several years working in the UK Civil Service on issues ranging from the Northern Ireland peace process to pensions tax and UK-China relations. Will’s resume isn’t all business though, he’s worked as a back-up singer for pop star Ellie Goulding. Will is the first person in his family to go to University, graduating from University of Oxford with a first-class degree in English Language and Literature. He is a season ticket holder for the “best football team in the world,” Manchester City F.C., and is excited that ghSMART’s freedom and flexibility has allowed him to rejoin his weekly Spanish class. “When I was singing professionally, I would spend my time with the executive directors and CEOs of music organizations, talking about their strategic plans, their thinking about talent, and why they designed their organization the way that they did,” says new colleague Dan Kempson. “When ghSMART said that I could do that as a job, I jumped at the opportunity.” A Grammy nominated operatic baritone, Dan joins our firm from BCG, where he worked across multiple industries and gained experience in organizational transformation and large-scale negotiation strategy. Passionate about coaching and development, he also co-led Pride@BCG’s mentorship program, serving hundreds of LGBTQ+ consultants in North America. Dan’s people, EQ and trusted advising skills have been described as his ‘superpower’. Dan graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and Columbia Business School. Congratulations to ghSMART Partner and CEO Succession practice lead Reshmi Paul who recently celebrated her 10-year anniversary at the firm. We asked her to share with us what makes ghSMART a great place: "A big reason why ghSMART works for me is the freedom I have--I like not having a boss! I have the freedom to build something here, like our CEO Succession practice and our corporate practice. Building the business with partners and teammates who were willing to try new things has been fun and very important to me. As a mother of 3, I have been able to raise my kids and be present for them and have control over my own schedule.
