Technical assistants perform a broad range of basic administrative support duties. They conduct data entry, process invoices, manage vendor payments, and manage calendars and appointment scheduling. Much of their role involves the preparation, processing, and archiving of various types of documentation and paperwork, including applications, inspection and inventory logs, delivery records, timesheets, requisition forms, and various types of agreements and contracts. They may act as a liaison relaying information and documents between numerous departments and staff members. They may also handle routine correspondence and respond to general inquiries.
Technical assistants have an associate degree in a business discipline, although additional training or education is an advantage. They should be proficient with common office software programs such as Excel. These roles require strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
