Very aggressive but professional and considerate recruitment. A full day of one-on-one interviews, a scientific presentation, and a lovely dinner afterward. I really enjoyed the day. People generally nice, with a few large egos. Genentech is an impressive place, but may not be for everybody. A prevailing concern both internally and externally is that most high-level positions are filled by recruited academics versus from within the ranks.
