I interviewed with the marketing director and area manager as the HR head was on vacation. The interview was in one of their nicer kept stores and was very pleasant. It consisted of the usual type of questions but they did ask me why I was interviewing again (this was the third time I had applied and interviewed). My response: "I really want to work and feel my skills are a good fit and would benefit your company." Each previous interview I had not received an offer, due in part to my previous salary was above any they would ever pay a manager. They ended up telling me that they were looking for assistants and lower positions and asked if I would accept that if offered. As I have been unemployed since mid 2008 I said yes and they said it would be fifty five hour weeks and a salary of 24k. I left and went home expecting to never hear back, as had previously happened. Five days later I received a call from the area manager saying they wanted to hire me as an assistant and I replied that I would need the night to consider it. This seemed to perplex him and he was a bit sarcastic when he repeated "You want a day to think about it?"
