What is the hiring process like at Acadia Healthcare?

Fantastic patient population, environment breeds a work culture akin to camaraderie

Pay is LOW. They refuse to provide raises for current employees, but will happily hire new talent for more than the raise you request. HR is actively bad and caused retaliation to occur in my clinic. Nepotism is RAMPANT. WORKING HERE IS A RISK TO YOUR NURSING LICENSE

Decent pay. Great direct manager. Gained a lot of knowledge.

Terrible upper management of all IT. Hired a new CIO in 2023 and she immediately started sneaking around to choose the lowest bidder to outsource us. To "keep up with demands." They could have kept up with demands by fully staffing us with techs who live here, but they were too cheap. Point blank. They sold out for the cheapest option and laid off our entire service desk- after they overworked us for years. Horrible!!!

There are no pros with current management. It is a high school clique and they wrongfully terminate people. When i first started, the company seemed to really want to help save lives. I took the job because of the values of the agency. When they created a new position over the summer for management and the lawsuit information hit the media, the company became greedy and stopped caring about patients and staff.

Pay, leadership is far from professional, they do not care about patients, medical staff are punitive towards patients and are on a power trip.

Staff want the best for the patients; often going above and beyond for them. From the CEO, DON and ADON to the Nursing Supervisor on shift; everyone works in a supportive team effort to make the best of each day.

Staffing ratio is currently 11:1, so once we have 12 patients, we can have a second tech. This doesn't take into account the acuity of the patients on the unit. One tech can't be in two places at a time. Making it the nurse's job to now round on the patients. From time to time, some staff members need reminding that we are a team. Everyone has their own duties to perform, however, patient care is our number one priority. Pay is also 18% below the national. Average hiring rates are about $17 right now, with is more than I make after two promotions & special projects. It is incredibly frustrating. The insurance costs more now and covers less, which I also find just wonderful.

Solid staff, when given the autonomy to run your department as you see fit, you can create a beautiful work environment, help a lot of people, and overall succeed at something special.

Minimal support from corporate beyond “are you hitting budget?” If you’re hitting budget, they leave you alone which isn’t always a good thing. When you’re not they come in and tear your process apart.
