From the CEO, DON and ADON to the Nursing Supervisor on shift; everyone works in a supportive team effort to make the best of each day.
Cons
Staffing ratio is currently 11:1, so once we have 12 patients, we can have a second tech. This doesn't take into account the acuity of the patients on the unit. One tech can't be in two places at a time. Making it the nurse's job to now round on the patients. From time to time, some staff members need reminding that we are a team. Everyone has their own duties to perform, however, patient care is our number one priority.
Pay is also 18% below the national. Average hiring rates are about $17 right now, with is more than I make after two promotions & special projects. It is incredibly frustrating. The insurance costs more now and covers less, which I also find just wonderful.
