      Pros

Average Pay, good Benefits, Great work life balance. good location/commute (depending where you live)

      Cons

Manager is a bully. Very mean and disrespectful. Toxic work environment. constantly yelling at her employees. provides no direction and gets upset when asked for assistance. I have never worked at a place that allows the manager to remain in their position and be this disrespectful to their employees.

      Pros

My experience with Airgas was mostly positive. I had a great team of people and learned a great deal. It was an opportunity for me to learn a new area of industry and they offer nice benefits.

      Cons

My only real negative is the training for managers is based mainly on you learn from someone who learned from someone who learned from someone. I would have preferred to have something more formal.

      Bad management

      Cons

Could be better, could be worse. Toss of a coin.

      Pros

The benefits were really good compared to my previous job, and I enjoyed how flexible my schedule was. I really like working with the drivers and some of the non-management, but that's about it.

      Cons

Management. Felt like they didn't care about us. Ask for a raise? They say it's not in the future, but they can get a fat quarterly bonus for doing nothing. Was promised a certain position to only be told it wasn't the one for me, yet it was the same one I was promised. Seriously it was the biggest slap to my face, and they rather hire a fresh kid from college who doesn't know their head from their toes....

      Former employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The benefits are standard, premiums are decent The overall company is a good place to to work

      Cons

This review is for the Lawrenceville,GA. location only Management does not listen to the workers, they do not engage with the collectors it’s more of directive leadership. You can be talked to in a very condescending way. Unfortunately you can’t go to HR for assistance as they are only the managers. A target will be placed on you and eventually you’re let go. Of course they say it was your performance. Upper management does not support the collections team, but allows the Director of sales to direct how collections should handled. Sales does not understand that a sale is not completed until collected so their are large dollar past due accounts they will not place on hold yet still allow the customers to do business which effects the collectors leverage on getting paid and collectors management allows this and is in constant battle with the collectors why the accounts are past due. There is no teamwork within Airgas it’s like every department is for themselves which leaves the collectors in a bad place. They have a small bonus plan however it’s challenging for the collectors to achieve because there is no support for the collections team. The company is moving to a call environment requiring a large minimum calls per week however the duties of the DRYICE collectors involve sending weekly statements, extensive account research and reconciliation, working with the branches to get credits approved and issued, resolve misapplied payments, requesting back up documentation from the customer and forwarding that information to appropriate department to correct. Keep in mind the cash application department is located in another country. When working in the customers actual portal, for these customers there is no direct A/P contact. Some of these customers you have to upload standard invoices and the delivery tickets and enter disputes in the portal and allow 30 days for reply. Work with the branches on billing issues to get resolved. The pay is for Collection Specialist but the duties are Account Managers. Recently there’s been upper management changes(Directors) and no one could answer your questions, there was NO leadership or support given to the collection team. The environment has become very toxic from when I started 6.5 years ago. A person does not feel valued or appreciated here, the way they talk you in a very condescending way, non communication, compensation. There is a hiring freeze for this location so that’s great that no one will get caught up in this environment.
