What are perks and other benefits like at Alcon?

The folks in charge value their people and take into consideration that we're all human with lives outside of work. You can tell they really care about you as a person. The work/life balance is great and they are flexible. The people here are also so friendly and willing to help. The benefits are top tier; the office space is very nice and updated; the pay is more than fair. I have no real complaints - I've been here 4 months now and I can see myself retiring from this company.

The biggest con (if you can call it one) is that we get to WFH on Fridays but only in the summer. Then it's 5 days in office, which is fine but not ideal.

Great company with typically very knowledgeable and supportive colleagues and managers throughout. Lots of additional benefits available through the company (health insurance deals, gym memberships, etc), and great salary comparatively to other FSE roles in ANZ. Company car and fuel card provided.

Frequent and sometimes interstate travel (usually driving, sometimes flying), and sometimes at very late notice (same/next day). Somewhat understaffed considering the increasing install base/workload throughout ANZ.

Decent pay, good benefits, many great coworkers, solid work life balance

Technology old and boring. But more concerning, reported very disturbing issue about a coworker through the ethics channel and received little to no follow-up from HR, which was disappointing. Situations like that should be taken seriously and addressed transparently. Management consistency was also an issue—after one difficult manager was finally let go, I was reassigned to another with different problems. At that point I decided it was time to move on.

Great products and innovation. Benefits are top tier and company culture is good. Professionals respect Alcon and welcome you to their practice.
