What is the hiring process like at Aquent?

      Aquent reviews

      Supportive and Professional Recruitment Process

      Communication coordinator
      Current contractor
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Aquent provided excellent support during the hiring process. They were consistently professional, communicative, and proactive. The resources they shared, including interview preparation materials and a one-on-one prep session, were invaluable in helping me feel confident and ready for my interviews and assessments. Having them as an advocate throughout the recruitment process made a significant difference.

      Cons

There was some lack of clarity regarding the role title and employment terms during the process. Initially, the job title and details around salary and work arrangement (hybrid versus on-site) changed several times, which caused some confusion. While these changes were ultimately resolved to my satisfaction, the lack of consistency early on made the process less ideal than it needed to be. The cons pale in comparison to the pros however.

Typical Tech Contracting Agency - Poor Communication

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Onboarding process was easy and employee system intuitive`

      Cons

Poor communication and minimal support from agency. Offers minimal benefits and no support after following layoff.

Watch out for the smoke screen

      Anonymous employee
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Education benefits, remote work, large group of aquent contractors placed in a same company so there is a feeling of comraderie

      Cons

You will be bullied by HR, especially dont bring up the poor onboarding process and there are no opportunities for advancement. You are part of the smoke screen of large corporations that get around employment laws by using contractors. Your pay and benefits will not come nearly as close as your fulltime counterparts at the companies you are placed

The best recruiter I’ve ever worked with – Monica’s expertise & support were game-changing!

      Pros

I cannot express enough gratitude for Monica Maldonado, my recruiting manager for my role at Canadian Tire in Calgary. From the moment she reached out to me on LinkedIn, her professionalism and genuine enthusiasm for connecting talent with opportunity were evident. She is incredibly organized, ensuring every step of the process was seamless. Monica quickly scheduled a phone call to provide a deeper understanding of the role, and her communication skills truly stood out—she explained everything clearly, answered all my questions with patience, and provided insights that went beyond the job description. Monica’s ability to follow up with precision and thoughtfulness made me feel completely supported. She stayed on top of every detail, from sharing relevant materials to preparing me thoroughly for the interview. Her encouragement was so motivating, and it was clear she genuinely wanted me to succeed. Monica's charisma and kindness turned what could have been a stressful process into an exciting and empowering journey. I feel so lucky to have had her guidance and can confidently say she is absolutely incredible at her job. I am beyond thankful for her support and thrilled about this new chapter in my career!

      Cons

Nothing to share here - everything was great!

What happened to this company? Don't bother!

      Senior ux designer
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Connected to top tech companies.

      Cons

Can't even count how many people I know who had contracts here for years but then were ghosted by the recruiters. What's up with that? Word is the recruiters are going for less experienced younger candidates in order to save money which is ageist! Friends and I had a few interviews in maybe three years, then ghosted. Never told if we got the job or didn't. Zero feedback. The candidate pool is huge now because they hire remotely. You'd think they'd show a little loyalty the local talent who helped bolsters their business all those years but why do that when you can get a cheaper hire from Nowheresville, Idaho, right? Recruiters send candidates out for jobs they aren't qualified for. I've spoken to hiring managers who get a pile of resumes with unqualified candidates or terrible fits.

Good People, Pay Transparency not so much

      Meetings and events coordinator
      Current contractor
      Seattle, WA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The people that work for Aquent were helpful and kind and responded to calls and emails quickly.

      Cons

The starting pay that I was initially offered was decreased twice during discussions (after I was ghosted by the recruiter for 3 months) and I was told that "oops, she told me incorrectly and it was a mistake"
