What is the hiring process like at Arcadis?

Senior Leader Appointment Process - Transparency Issues

      Director
      Current employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Arcadis has recently launched a significant initiative to become a skills-powered organization. As with all of its internal programs, it’s well-conceived at a conceptual level and promises substantial long-term benefits, such as reduced bias in the hiring process, increased employee engagement and retention, and an expanded talent pool. A real opportunity to build lasting careers.

      Cons

However, the reality does not align with the narrative. Since the program's launch at the beginning of the year (and the recent social media promotion), five senior leadership positions have been awarded to individuals based on long service, with no transparency about the selection process. Roles were not advertised, instead they relied on the hiring managers network. This missed opportunity for the very top of the organisation to lead by example undermines the organization's commitment to being truly skills-powered. It's challenging to see how longevity of service can be equated with a valuable skillset without clear process transparency and candidates skill comparison.

      Pros

The company and its values are awesome but some recent hires are desperate managers , they only do micro management.

      Cons

Desperate hiring, no proper hiring process.

      Pros

I enjoyed the team, and was supported by my Manager. Everyone I worked within the department was so helpful getting me up to speed quickly. The more i performed and contributed, i got bumps in pay pretty consistently.

      Cons

As is in any Recruitment role, the Hiring managers were sometimes just unbearable/unrealistic with expectations of what our department did.

      Poor interview process by HR

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Gave oppurtunity by shortlisting my resume and giving an opputunity to give interview with 4 years career break .

      Cons

"I recently applied for a job at Arcadis, where I underwent two rounds of interviews - one virtual and one in-person - with a panel of three interviewers each. I also completed an assessment. The interviews seemed to go well, with the panels appearing positive. However, I was surprised to find that there was no HR screening round to verify my experience or other credentials. Throughout the process, I found the HR department to be quite unresponsive. They only contacted me to schedule interviews and, on one occasion, to inquire about my previous salary. I had to make multiple follow-up calls, but received no response. It wasn't until the HR representative called to inform me that I had been shortlisted that I received any update. I was asked to submit documents, which I did promptly. Despite my subsequent follow-ups, the HR department remained unresponsive. Overall, the entire process felt unusual and unprofessional from the HR department's perspective." I was just expecting a transparency and the entire process was quite disappointing. What do you tink team? is this a normal trends this days and how to deal with such situations?
