Great people but culture is going downhill

      Technical support engineer
      Current employee

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - great people, strong collaboration within the team, direct Managers genuinely care about the wellbeing of their team - Great office with catered lunches 3 days per week - Party pups once per month where the whole office gets together and either go out for an event or has a themed party in the office, great for team bonding and also meeting people from other departments - great learning opportunities, they will sponsor your certifications - no layoffs during the period a lot of tech companies were downsizing - good benefits, there is health insurance, pension contributions and fitness reimbursement

      Cons

      - in the last 2 years the focus has been solely on KPIs and numbers, so much that VPs are looking each week into the numbers of tickets the Support Engineers are taking, they revised the KPIs for different product areas as they have different complexity but then decided everyone should get 6 tickets per day which would bring some Support Engineers to 170% utilisation per day, people are overworked and a lot of them above the KPIs required for the role but it seems this is the norme now - Return to office has been so strictly imposed in Support without a possibility to be flexible if peoples life circumstances have changed, it will impact your future progression in the company, they say to stay home if you are not feeling great but your RTO attendance will be impacted and in 6 months when you are up for a promotion the only thing they will see is the number and that you didn't meet the requirements - a lot of attrition, you can rarely find people here longer than 2/3 years, even Managers who have been here longer are leaving - our enablement team is so out of touch with the product and what is actually needed to do the job, they think it's possible to ramp up in 3 months by watching videos, we need more live workshops and experienced Support Engineers showing how to troubleshoot issues

Toxic Culture- Management/Leadership and Workload Need Improvements

      Customer success manager (csm)
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

They offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, wellness programs, and catered office lunches three times a week (but no 401k). The company's innovative products also provide valuable experience in the tech industry.

      Cons

Despite the strong benefits, the company does not cover parking expenses, leading to additional personal costs. In-office attendance is monitored via IP addresses, but there is no accessible method for employees to track their own in-office days. The workload is often overwhelming, with too many accounts assigned, leading to burnout. There is a perception of favoritism within leadership, which affects team morale and advancement opportunities. Compensation is considered low relative to the demanding workload. Additionally, promotions are challenging to obtain, and managerial support is lacking. Notably, after submitting a disability accommodation request, I was let go, raising concerns about the company's commitment to supporting employees with disabilities.

      Pros

Great pay Great benefits including catered lunches, snacks, health insurance etc. Good WLB (at least on my time/in my org) Performance measured by impact not time-in office

      Cons

In-office focus. If you are not already remote, expect a high hurdle to clear to get permission to switch to remote or reduce number of days required in office.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Opportunity to work deeply across AWS, Azure, and GCP, staying at the bleeding edge of cloud-native technologies and distributed systems. The company invests heavily in high-level networking and team bonding, ranging from generously budgeted quarterly dinners to global events like the annual Staff Engineer conference, which recently brought the senior leadership together in Paris.

      Cons

The financial benefits package is underwhelming. The medical benefits are average, and the 401k match is below other industry leaders.

      Cons

the support engineering department is an absolute mess. constantly changing goal posts, revolving door of people as they become burned out. no future career growth. its very clear that KPI's matter over employees mental health STAY AWAY unless you want to pay for weekly therapy sessions!

A great company but more work to be done

      Customer success

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great benefits - health insurance, fertility, unlimited PTO, 3 x lunch in office, phone allowance, plenty of on-site events, pension etc. The people at DD stand-out, everyone is super friendly, smart and want to work hard. The company performance is excellent and is in great financial shape. Zero concerns on job security unlike many of my friends in other tech companies.

      Cons

Office attendance policy is 3 days in office, some people will like that and others won't.

      Pros

      - Great company and product with a good future ahead - Awesome office culture - you'll want to be in these beautiful offices with lunch 3 times a week, high-quality snacks, monthly social events, and really kind and welcoming colleagues - Good work/life balance with "unlimited" PTO and managers that encourage folks to take time off - Benefits are solid, with monthly gym and phone allowance, home office stipend, and affordable healthcare for families

      Cons

      - Pay might be lower than other tech companies, and salary negotiation wasn't exactly fruitful during the recruiting process - 401k match could be improved

Great company overall with some amazing perks and people, but extremely poor leadership in Marketing

      Marketing
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - amazing benefits that are very competitive, including unlimited PTO, healthcare for you and partner, fitness and gym reimbursement, equity, egg freezing, and more - beautiful new office in prime location - very smooth hiring process (back in 2021) - travel opportunities (role dependent) - getting to work alongside some extremely talented and personable individuals (almost always mid-management and below), some who really care about their teams and have amazing leadership skills - great product - well-respected CEO

      Cons

      - salaries are not competitive at all (benchmarked against 27 companies personally all offering 50-70k AUD more for the same role) - 3 day in office requirement (depends on personal preference as to whether this is a pro or con) - terrible, poor leadership in Marketing including managers that don’t turn up for 1-1s and no communication or give conflicting information - no strategy whatsoever to our activities! - no KPIs or goals in marketing whatsoever. Only trying to introduce now - no consistent leadership (had 8 managers, 6 different people) in just over two years - no growth opportunities or clear career paths in the marketing department - some disrespectful local sales teams members which made working together very unpleasant, even after raising it for more than 6 months.
