Weekly pay, remote, no micromanaging, holidays and benefits.

Supportive team culture and genuinely flexible hybrid setup. Benefits are strong (time off options, family leave, tuition support), and people tend to stay—so you don’t feel like you’re constantly rebuilding teams. Work is impactful because you’re supporting senior leaders directly, and you get a lot of ownership to build/automate dashboards, scorecards, and reporting that actually drives decisions. Cross-functional exposure is a big plus if you like being the “bridge” between business and IT.

Like most BI environments, you’ll run into messy source systems, inconsistent definitions, and data governance gaps that make “one version of the truth” harder than it should be. Priorities can shift quickly when senior stakeholders are involved, so you need to be comfortable juggling ad hoc requests alongside long-term automation work. Some processes/tools can feel legacy-heavy, and getting changes through can take longer than expected.

The shift in the last few years has been for the worst. Compensation is not competitive, and there is a lack of career growth opportunities. When people leave or get laid off, responsibilities are distributed among the remaining staff, increasing stress and workload without adjusting compensation or modifying job descriptions. When I was laid off, I quickly realized that not even my manager knew the full extent of my responsibilities, and they were scrambling to find people to take over my duties. I knew not to take it personally when I was laid off alongside some extremely talented and hard-working people. It seemed that they only looked at payroll numbers and chose who to let go.

The people were phenomenal and supportive. Managers were positive and supportive as well.

Company seems to change direction / be subject to organizational changes frequently due in part to very poor performance. Benefits and pay were slowly taken away as a result of performance and never came back.
