      Pros

You can pick up as many hrs as you want after you meet lawa requirements. Free standby flights Classroom trainer is really good and mentors are good.

      Cons

THE TRUTH FOR ANYONE WANTING TO WORK AT ENVOY @ LAX mgmt could care less about inconveniences. they’re cool people but the way the operation is set up makes it’s so that they are insensitive to unexpected things like you having an emergency. you will get dependability points which count towards keeping your job and mgmt will not take them off even if they aren’t your fault. you might have to ask three or more times to get them removed. during 6 month probation you receive 1 point if you call out sick and you get .25 for being late and sometimes there’s a long line at the punch in machine so you gotta be prepared to come into work early. even if you’re 1 minute late on a punch in you’ll get docked. no sick hours during probation so you basically have to have perfect attendance which is pretty ridiculous imo. if you get 3.5 pints you are fired. Training lasts 8 weeks and you are trained for every job function—driving/baggage, ramp, and cabin cleaning. Your shift will change every week because you have to work graveyard, morning and mid-day shift. Also took MONTHS to get a start date after interview. By the end of it you’ll be feeling like it’s impossible to have stability in your life but it gets better after you get your normal shift. Once training is up you bid for your normal shift which lasts for 2-3 months and then you bid again. just expect to have a changing schedule every couple months. MOST IMPORTANTLY do not let them fool you, you will be working Cabin shift for about a year if you stick it out. shift bidding is seniority based so the people that have been there the longest will get the best shifts (ramp, baggage). Everyone new and at the bottom gets cabin cleaning. easiest job ever but easy to get fired—you’ll see why if you get the job. if you’re ok with working under consistent anxiety of losing your job this is for you. its not that bad but if you think you’ll be on the ramp/want to work ramp you should probably try another mainline or 3rd party company. the worst part about it is getting trained for everything and then having to come back and work doing graveyard cabin cleaning.

      Good flight benefits!
