Some of the pros are the ability to make cash tips daily, the flexibility with the schedule, and the long term relationships you could potentially make with your coworkers.

The low pay, the high instability with income (some months you'll make a full time's income only working part time and then other months, you'll need a second or even third job to makeup for the lack of income), no benefits, and nothing to work towards once you've reached red level status as a waxer. Which is why almost all the waxers who reach red level status, stay there for years.

The tips can be great at the right location and I loved my clients, flexible hours

They don’t increase your hourly no matter how long u have been working for them, no good benefits(you can’t have benefits unless you work 35hr), no lunch breaks, shifts are 7hr, no seniority

You get free waxes, manager and coworkers and generally very kind. Get to sit in a comfy chair :)

Literally work you the max they can without giving you full time benefits. No breaks even on 12 hour days. Constant pressure to outsell others giving a bit of a competitive environment. Definitely not to an extreme degree but I did feel a sense of unworthiness and frustration if I wasn’t better than someone at selling subscriptions. They also pay terribly even with the commission. Minimum wage for such a high stress job is ridiculous tbh. 38 hours a week, no breaks, constantly doing something, needing to help customers while also scheduling and writing notes and selling subscriptions. It seems not too bad at first but how fast paced the environment is and the amount of time you are working it became extremely unhealthy for me to work there honestly. The manager is nice and cares about people I think it’s just the way the company is set up. For waxers they get paid terribly even though they get tips . Other waxing places are better paying. There’s an INSANE turnover rate at this location for a reason.

Exacting standards with little room for errors, even when just learning the new job duties.

One of the benefits of working here was the discount on some services.

The management was horrible, so happy I left when I did.
