Great Place to Work & Grow

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Working at Henkel has been an incredibly positive experience. The company genuinely values its employees and demonstrates that through a comprehensive benefits package, including excellent health coverage, 12 weeks of paid paternity leave and a strong 401(k) plan with generous matching. One of the standout aspects is the emphasis on work-life balance. Leadership understands the importance of flexibility and personal time, which creates a healthy and productive work environment. I’ve always felt supported in managing both my professional responsibilities and personal life. There are also clear paths for growth and advancement. The company actively promotes from within and provides ample opportunities for professional development. Whether through mentorship, training programs, or internal job postings, it’s clear that employee success is a top priority. Overall, Henkel fosters a culture of respect, growth, and balance. I’m proud to be part of a team that truly cares about its people.

      Cons

One area where there's room for improvement is consistency across different locations, which is a work in progress. Standardizing best practices across all locations will help ensure everyone has the same positive experience, regardless of their location.

      Pros

The pay is good, and the benefits they offer are great, working 4 days then 4 days off is the best schedule I’ve ever had it’s like mini vacations every week!

      Cons

Not getting holiday pay while on probation and having to stay an extra 30 minutes just cause you take a lunch during the day.

      Pros

Overall I had a very positive recruitment experience, from my first screening call with the recruiter to the final in person interview. The process was professional and well‑structured, with clear and consistent steps throughout. Communication timelines were clearly outlined and met, which helped set expectations. The interview panel demonstrated strong knowledge of the role and organization, and provided a realistic and transparent preview of the position, allowing for an informed understanding of the role. Since joining the organization, I have felt well supported and have a clear understanding of my role, objectives, and expectations. Henkel’s strong focus on employees, including the benefits and perks offered to us, has been very positive, and the company culture is truly exceptional.

      Cons

IT access can be delayed when you first start, it would be great if everything was set up and ready to go on your first day.

      Mixed feelings

      Manager
      Current employee
      Stamford, CT

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Multinational company, promotes diversity and inclusion, good benefits, strong brands

      Cons

Though Henkel promotes smart work, there are still many people managers who are micromanaging, lack of empathy especially to thriving mothers and selfish (doesn’t give opportunities like projects etc to team members). When you get a bad boss, your career growth is over. Mass layoffs do happen (no bearing even top talents get laid off). Promoting “craft your career” culture but so difficult for internal movement (“who you know” is a leverage). HR’s Rotational program is limited, only for interns. Why not invest/open the opportunity to internal full-time employees who’s highly motivated, already adaptive to fast-paced environment or even a talent employee? Career growth seems to be very slow when you’re in a less team-oriented department.

A very collaborative work environment with dedicated people who work hard and have a passion for winning. The company offers great benefits and opportunities to grow and develop your skills.

      Cons

some of the Sr. leadership is weak. Very egocentric and not very empowering with their people. Leadership needs to spend more time listening and being open to feedback from the teams.

The social benefits in Germany are really good in comparison to other companies. There is something special about people you meet here. Very international. No German needed, unless the job description says so.

      Cons

Still "old management school" to be seen especially in top managers and executive committees.

      SLOW PROGRESSION

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great culture. Office is clean and good. Good benefits and management team is good. They really give importance to work-life well that depends on the team.

      Cons

Good benefits because they could improve it more. Insurance, DC fund options, HMO, is good but allowance is mehh, not competetive when compared to other FMCGs such as J&J, P&G and Unilever. The career progression is so slow. The company is not creating flair to their organizational setup. They are very vocal about continuous improvement but could not make any change with their flat organizational therefore making career progression too slow. Too slow that some colleagues get promoted only after 5 yrs in their tenure. Some systems are old and outdated. Too many adhoc/workstreams to a point that it doesn't give you the freedom to choose where you really wanted to develop.
