      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great people, flexible hours, fast paced so time flies. You're given a good amount of autonomy.

      Cons

Awful company, they'll screw you over whenever they can. I've seen it happen too many times of people losing or not getting health insurance, being scheduled outside of availability, favoritism, and such. No room for upward mobility, and horrible pay for the amount of workload, effort, and stress.

      No work life balance

      Store director
      Current employee
      Tinley Park, IL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent salary Good health coverage and 401k match

      Cons

Leadership leads by fear and intimidation. Room for advancement is limited

Terrible Company. Low Compensation. Egomaniac Managers

      Clerk
      Current employee
      Niles, IL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Very little, if any. The suburban stores pay $2 to $2.50 less than Chicago. You will be earning less than a person straight out of High School with no experience. Avoid suburban stores and Union 881

      Cons

Nearly two years of working 26 to 30 hours per week and they still will not give me health insurance. However, they can throw away over $1000.00 per day in "expired" or "damaged" food. I have taken photos everyday for a year which I will publish in a book about the grocery industry. Our employee discount dropped to 5% while prices throughout the store increased over 15%

      Cons

Short staffed at times Union fees Benefits (health insurance, vacation, etc.) not the best (full-time only, does not impact part-time)

It Gives works for you if you work for it

      Grocery manager
      Current employee

      - Top Tier health benefit. -Safe and Comfortable work environment 5-7days. - Mostly allows you to create your own schedule and team. -Union for most manager positions (not grocery manager though) -Super hard to get fired.

      Cons

-Doesn't have pay raises unless its a major promotion -Not the most professional environment. -Doesn't pay well in reference to the work being done. -Doesn't do well holding all people accountable fairly for work being done. -Very outdated with technology. -Everything is done on paper.
