Incredible micromanaged. Upper leadership doesn’t seem to value lower level insight on large planned changes. Base pay is not competitive. Lots of work being moved to Colombia.

Pushing use of AI in all areas of the company without regard for the environmental impacts, increased energy demand impacts, and the displacement of neighborhoods due to increased numbers of data centers. Also doesn’t acknowledge it is not a flawless system, it makes lots of mistakes, and expects everyone to integrate it in their workflow. Implied pro-Israel stance as a company, individual employees may think differently but no one talks about it. Pushing now (starting fall 2025) 4 days in office per week and eliminating remote positions with limited flexibility depending on your manager.

Difficult to progress at times

Good pay, benefits, PTO, and work social life is balanced.

They lay off employees often when the company reaches their goal and the people who are permanent employees gets to stay.

The pay is good, The benefits and time off policies are excellent. I have worked at several large corporations in the past and Medtronic is the best. This is an excellent place for a younger person to get started on their career because Medtronic has so many opportunities for career growth. More than I have ever seen at other companies.

Work/life balance can be a struggle. Not that the company expects you to sweat blood for it, but because we care about patient lives, it is hard to shut the computer down at the end of the day. Looking to make sure what we do counts every single day.

I enjoyed working with my team mates. It use to be a great company to work for but once Omar left everything changed.

No work life balance. Current IT Senior Leadership lacks necessary knowledge about what they are responsible for. The company has continued to strip away benefits and most raises now are not even at a cost of living adjustment level. No value anymore for technical expertise.
