Working at Palantir provides exceptional exposure to complex data problems across various industries. The company attracts highly talented colleagues who push you to grow technically. Compensation is competitive, and the mission-driven work offers a sense of purpose. The flat organizational structure allows for direct impact regardless of seniority.

Work-life balance can be challenging with frequent client demands and tight deadlines. The deployment schedule sometimes requires unpredictable travel. Internal processes can be unclear, and career progression paths aren't always well-defined. The intense culture isn't suitable for everyone.

Tons of opportunity for young people to take responsibility and progress quickly

Very little structure and little handholding; not the right place for many people

You do get a lot of responsibilities fast, so can be good for learning on a first job.

There is close to no career progression (monetary or level) at palantir with additional responsibility. Very little control on what you get to work on as a new hire

They trust you with considerable responsibilties early on and you can quickly find yourself a team lead. Great early growth opportunities.

Senior leadership is largely unchanged since the early stays of the company. Everyone is glued to their seats. That means the levels underneath don't have anywhere to go, and most people eventually find themselves plateauing.

High cieling growth opportunities, fast paced, variety of work, great exposure to executive leaders

Demanding, unclear expectations, minimal work life balance

You can choose to be as technical or nontechnical, as intense or chill, as rigorous or speedy as you want it to be. With some political knowhow the entire landscape becomes yours to navigate and you can simply pick and choose what skills you want to grow.

You can get put into some really really really bad teams, and in that case your technical skills will atrophy beyond recognition.
