What is the hiring process like at PepsiCo?

      PepsiCo reviews

Great benefits and advancement, but high turnover and understaffing

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Benefits Free product giveaway Raffles Free swag Always room for advancement

      Cons

High turnover rate, always hiring and firing Always understaffed Long hours Call ins Not enough perks Very slow hiring process Hiring someone could take 3-5 weeks, employees usually quit within the first 30-60 days.

      Hire and Fire

      Data product manager
      Former contractor
      Plano, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

--> Can learn from the latest implementation of technology. --> Managers don't force employees to be in office atleast for contractors. --> Can have good work-life balance.

      Cons

Fulltimers take credit for the work done by contractors. Fulltimers feel so insecure because of contractors. No job-security for contractors irrespective of thequality of your work, everything completely is based on leadership funding for your project, securing fulltimers job-security first and then placing contractors if budget allows so donot expect your role to be converted as full time. --> You can see some contractors being converted as full timers as they are either close friend or in some form of a relationship with Pepsico directors. --> Most of the job positions you see on Pepsico Careers page are published only after it is filled previously, no transparancy in hiring process.

      Pros

Work life balance in some teams.

      Cons

The TA team hired from 2025 onwards has been highly unresponsive and shows a clear lack of ownership towards candidate experience. Basic expectations, such as communicating application status, are not being met. In most organizations, candidates at least receive a rejection email when their application is not selected. However, at Pepsi, this fundamental step is often overlooked. Applications remain stagnant on the portal without any updates, leaving candidates uncertain about their status. What is even more concerning is the lack of response from recruiters, even in cases involving referrals or former employees. This reflects poorly on the overall recruitment process and candidate engagement standards. Jobs are often posted externally for the sake of it and is usually being closed by hiring from leadership referrals, irrespective of profile relevancy.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Freedom out in the trade. You’re not physically watched all day, you clock in at your first store and clock out at your last store, so if you have good work ethic and independence you will do fine. You can drive your personal vehicle and get paid mileage. Great benefits.

      Cons

The management is non existent until you don’t meet a corporate metric, regardless whether you have any control over the situation or not. No accountability for the merch team under you that “relieves” you when you’re off. You can’t discipline them and the management refuses to do so because they’d rather have someone who does poor work than have to go through the fire/rehire process. It’s a constant game of clean up. Sales reps are very micromanaged on metrics that are often near impossible to meet. No local opportunity for advancement in the company. You must be willing to transfer to make a career at pepsi and odds are slim even if you are willing to transfer of actually finding a manager who cares to help you advance.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Pepsi has a broad portfolio of products to offer the marketplace which makes the selling process easy. Pay is competitive.

      Cons

Last-minute plan shifting, incredibly high leadership expectations, low expectations of hourly employees.

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

If you focus really hard you can manage your time well

      Cons

There is a steep learning curve to manage all expectations and achieve time over pay value. Pay expectations and scheduling were not as described during the interview process. The head office and locations seem to have communications hurdles.
