Pros
Work Life Balance - This seems to be little better than other big4's but this also goes for a toss when your Manager does not understand what is right rather trying to impose words of Management.
Cons
Managers/Senior Managers - Some of them have been for so long that they believe it is company owned by them and Management do not do anything about it. I do understand that you have acquired CA/CPA and company is paying you for that but do not try to be dictator, if you deserve respect and people perceive that way you would get it, do not try to thing this is hurting your Ego aspect. On Job Training - This is the area where I feel they do not do anything. They have their Training portal (Vantage) which gives you theoratical knowledge but there is no own to teach things practically, the only way you learn is trial and Error and to that also these people would not understand. Empathy - This word has been overused and has been used at the convenience when you point a mistake or improvement wih respect to someone close to them they would ask you to emphatize with the person but when it comes to giving you feedback they do not care abou Empathy. Covid Response - Response has been fairly good in terms of Vaccination but since we have started work from home and there are at times challenges with electricity/internet, Managers do not respond to your message when you inform and sometimes they do think you are giving an excuse. Enrolled Agent Preparation Assistance - PwC does not force to get it until the role needs it but if you want to learn yourself, they would not share the EA materials with you, you have run around pillar to post before you give up. Compensation - Being in the system for so long I do clearly understand that they pay good to lateral hires or else it is an avergae pay. Indepndence Policy - Company has an independence policy which makes sure that the people who are married should not be in the same team but there are numerous examples where they use it for the sake of it, some of their Senior Managers and Spouses are in the same team acquiring same role, I am not sure how any decision could be even transparent. Communication Skills - I assure you that they do not have any way to handle communication skills, Some of their managers are not effecive communicator and are comfortable in regional languages only. Busy Season - We all understand that busy season means lots of work but the way it is communicated or questioned on a particualr deliverable is highly unprofessional, Managers does not care even if you slept at 4 am he/she wants you to be there for their team meeting at 10/10.30.
Advice to Management
I am certainly not expecting a major transformation as you cant change so many people at once, but certainly try to work and who knows what we may achieved finally aim for any organization is to propser and value their most valuable resources -People
