Good Compensation, Average Work. Good stepping stone to enter into the big boys club!

      Software engineer
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good compensation as compared to most of the companies in India. Great stock options. Free food (Pathetic, but free). High stakes, good learning. Good overall benefits.

      Cons

You need to be lucky to get into a good team. As usual, your manager will make or break your career. The management vertical is not at all lean. People at same position are reporting to each other. Things move slowly as expected in a big tech company. Slow promotions. Low level promotions are not at all performance based. Non existent HR system. Bureaucracy. Qualcomm has hired people like it was last day on earth. In the name of diversity and inclusion, Qualcomm has degraded their interview and hiring standards. Good talent has already left. Whatever is remaining, the old school (the old guard) management is making sure they leave as well. Most of the people are workoholics, and expect you to be one as well. Working extended hours is so normal that if you complain about it, you will be laughed at. And you will be told how you are wrong for not working 12 hours a day.
