What is the retirement plan like at Ryder System?

Pay is a little competitive, average PTO, The people are super friendly, easy to get along with and work with. Co-workers are super helpful.

Having to juggle multiple roles and tasks which may be more suitable for a system admin position, without the added pay. Benefits are horrible, no 401k match for 1 year, PTO is average, no parental leave for fathers, no to very very little room for growth. Multiple workers I know get away with doing no work at all, while others take on more than a full load.

Toxic work environment, favoritism , racist , join this company if you are good at blame game and can handle corporate politics. Operations runs like jail management .

When you are a top performer, you’re treated well by direct management and senior management. If you’re anything less than a top performer (somewhere in the middle or low performer) you are constantly under fire. Benefits are decent including 401k match There are opportunities to move around in company and take on more responsibilities

Constant lay offs. It’s hard to understand where the company is truly at financially due to consist job holds, re opening and closing of jobs. Makes it tough to be successful and stay organized when there is high level of disorganization up top. Desire to have top talent but pay entry level compensation for recruitment. Micromanaging is their style of leadership across the organization. You’ll constantly get pings from leadership throughout the day to make sure you’re working which can be frustrating when you’re in the middle of interviews and speaking with candidates in process all throughout the day.

Awesome coworkers - SOME good managers.

Culture is pisspoor. Company would rather hire more unneeded middle management than provide raises to current employees who work 50+ hours/week making the bare minimum. Does not match their policies - 401K should be 50% match, they only match 12% , OT for SNE employees should be 50% of salary broken down into an hourly rate this is not 50% and the more OT you accrue the less you get paid per hour worked over. (How 50% period is legal is astonishing and cheap on the companies behalf.) If you need to make a living and support a family - look for something else!!

3.5 day work week. No mandatory OT, but lots of optional at the moment.

The worst 401k plan I've seen in my life, may as well not even exist. Mediocre health benefits. High turnover. Unpaid lunch breaks.

Good work culture in our business unit. Honest Management who truly care about all employees from field level to upper management. Great benefits package with options for 401K and Roth’s. Work is clear and easy to understand if you are willing to put the time in to learn your position and the industry.

Proprietary Operating System could be better retooled to fit exact jobs.

Short three and a half day work week. Sometimes plenty of optional OT, especially if you hit rate consistently. If you are an experienced Warehouse employee, rate should be easy.

The 401K plan is the worst. There's a $35 annual "record keeping fee". It takes 7 days after deduction before your investment option is bought. It takes an entire year before they start matching your contributions; which takes 5 years to be fully vested. The match is only 50% on up to 6% of weekly pay. You need to be there two years before you're even 25% vested. Hourly pay is not that competitive anymore for forklift operators. $20 is like minimum wage for this role in 2026 They are way too strict with the micromanaging and the "you have to do things this way" rules. (Rules that don't exist in other warehouses and people do all the time. Like temporarily driving forks first to leave and aisle. So many dumb rules which were only implemented because they hire in mass so many people who don't have any experience or are just bad at the job, so they mess up simple things) Few days but long hours.

Remote work, good 401k. Most coworkers are great to work with

Managers are micromanaging on the diesel tech side. You do not get a raise unless your are someone’s favorite.
