I have been working at Ryder System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, pay/benefits are great. Management does not micromanage sales staff.

    Cons

We stay very busy! Sometimes it's hard to manage the time allotted each day.

I worked at Ryder System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, good benefits, always giving away merchandise, cafeteria, team building excerises.

    Cons

Room for advancement has too many strings attached. Upper management has no compassion. They don’t listen to the operations team. No open door policy. You have jump threw hoops to be heard.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your people

    Pros

Overall good company to work for- decent benefits

    Cons

My role came with long hours, for not very good pay considering hours worked at the office and at home. Non stop calls.

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Full benefits, 401k, and not much else.

    Cons

Not paid enough for the responsibility you are given. As a salary position you are expected to work minimum of 9-10 hour days, but it is discouraged to give out OT to hourly positions.

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits and decent pay.

    Cons

Equipment is not being properly maintained.

    Advice to Management

Drivers fresh out of CDL school should not be making the same as experienced and seasoned drivers. Also, there should be more advancement opportunities for seasoned drivers to move into dispatch. Instead of having dispatchers that have know knowledge of any aspect of the trucking business or logistics once or ever.
