      Schneider Dedicated

      Class a truck driver
      Current employee
      Reno, NV
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good pay, and benefits, set schedule, good home time.

      Cons

When freight is slow, the pay checks will suffer!

Overall positive experience, with a few areas for growth.

      Senior customer service specialist
      Current employee
      Green Bay, WI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great benefits package, great colleagues, and opportunity to participate in employee resource groups. Organization has strong roots to the local community as well, and there are a variety of departments/lines of business to support individual career growth opportunities.

      Cons

Recent RTO mandate (employees were allowed to have a hybrid schedule before), which eliminated a lot of work/life balance + flexibility. Workloads can be a bit overwhelming, and pay is not competitive when compared to the volume of work.

      Decent training, bad work conditions

      Cdl-a driver
      Former employee
      Montgomery, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The 2 weeks of training as part of the hiring process in PA was pretty good, and I think sets a decent foundation for tractor trailer driving. They did use a lot of scare tactics and were very strict about cell phone use, which is probably good for new drivers. Food was bad, and double occupancy was ok if you have a good roommate.

      Cons

Working conditions and preparation for new drivers in my actual work location in NY was not great. Including the lackluster manager (who has never even driven a truck?!) and who couldn't care less. The overall company felt like a high turnover conveyor belt for new employees as they do not invest in keeping good drivers and continually train and churn out new drivers. Lack of care for trucks, and overall uncaring environment. Budget cuts for drivers, equipment and no on site mechanics yet managers and upper level seems to enjoy more benefits and comforts. Get some training and then get out as soon as you can!

Thanks for the honest review. We are sorry your experience didn't live up to our high standard. We appreciate the hard work drivers do and are listening to their feedback to make positive changes. We wish you all the best in your driving career!

Overall good but typical corporate America

      Customer experience manager
      Current employee
      Green Bay, WI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The people are awesome and the collective drive for improvement is motivating. The benefits are decent and the vacation package that starts the day you are hired is nice.

      Cons

Typical corporate America. Takes forever to get beneficial changes made. Everything comes down to the almighty dollar and it takes a LOT of data and convincing to get anything meaningful changed.

      On Boarding

      Data technology analyst
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

They offer great benefits and pay.

      Cons

The on boarding and training is terrible, you basically just get thrown into the position.

Not a good long term employer

      Class a cdl truck driver
      Former employee
      Phoenix, AZ
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good to get your experience, that's it.

      Cons

Low pay Terrible hours Takes a while to get benefits and paid time off

      Be aware

      Dedicated driver
      Current employee
      Denver, CO
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Pretty consistent work IF you keep on them daily. DM’s do their best, but upper management is checked out. $.75 a mile for dedicated is better than many, and benefits are competitive

      Cons

They will nickel and dime you to death at every opportunity. Weekend and after hours support is almost non-existent. Their internal communications system is a joke. Their navigation program is also a joke. If you are not self starter and self efficient at problem solving, this company is not a good fit. Also ALWAYS get everything in writing - a good policy to have is if Schneider promises something, they are lying. Especially their recruiters -

      Toronto, ON
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent pay, competitive benefits, large organizations with many US locations

      Cons

No longer in Canada, Canada was never a priority. Nevwr enough staff

Micro management and lack of employee support

      Senior customer service representative
      Current employee
      Green Bay, WI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Schneider offers a lot of additional benefits that most employers do not.

      Cons

So many team leaders, supervisors, managers, manager's managers, and so on.... and none of them know how to actually manage people, and actually listen to and address their employee's concerns, or support their teams in ways that will be productive to the individual. Once you are in Schneider, they make it seem like you can easily move laterally or up in the company, when in reality your managers will hold you back. You aren't allowed to apply for another internal position without your current manager's approval.
