Pay, PTO, clinical ladder is relatively easy, the union (for the most part), love my coworkers, self-scheduling
Cons
Management intimidating nurses who write ADOs, audits, micromanagement, do not feel valued, higher ups cutting corners risking patient safety in order to save money, no pension, healthcare benefits aren't good
Hours are not good
Managers are not friendly and have favoritism. No career opportunities you will not learn anything new.
The job has a high turnover employee rate.
This is the best place I’ve ever worked as a nurse although let me be clear, most of the amazing benefits come from the union as opposed to the company itself. That being said, there are safe patient ratios, a great 401K with matching, the most competitive pay in the country, and other benefits such as time and money to use on your own nursing education annually.
Cons
Nurses are expected to do A LOT. It can be overwhelming feeling as though you are spending a large portion of your shift collecting data, documenting excessively, and checking boxes for the company as opposed to spending that time providing patient care.
Good benefits, great pay, people are generally happier here than anywhere else I worked.
Cons
The old hospital is a dungeon. Horrible working conditions, and some shifts are intolerable. On the other hand, the new Hospital is beautiful and runs better, but I’ve dealt with extremely strict and nitpicking management.
